Forums - Sony Discussion - the last of us has blew up the internet

When the last of us has a trailer showing no gameplay get over 10million views, then you can say it blew up the internet.

Regardless it is still very impressive for a new ip. It will likely sell very well.

And just a bit more info Last of Us is currently track ing at less then 10% of Halo 4s numbers and well behind games such as Borderlands 2 and Resident Evil 6

CGI im higher than store level i see company numbers not individual numbers

Last of us does not have more views than halo 4, not even close. You're looking at different channels, the channel you watched the last of us trailer on likely has more subscribers or dedicated fans. If you go on IGN's channel, the halo 4 demo has 600,000 views and last of us demo has 200,000. I just made an account here to reply to this incredibly stupid post.

I wasnt saying that the last of us is going to outsell Halo. That would be stupid of me. I was just pointing out how much interest it was gathering. I was using Halo a really huge Ip as an example of how much people are taking notice of this game.

@SangheliZealotX I aint no fool. I ensured to check many videos from E3 12 involving Halo 4 and the last of us. It is clear that the last of us has had more interest when considering total video view counts.

I created this thread just as observational reasons then to say look "more youtube hits, LOU gonna outsell Halo 4 WOFL". -_-

I just found it interesting and thought others might too and just asked is this a sign of the game doing well. aka things yet to come.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Man, some of you are dumb. This is why I don't post here anymore.

Nobody said The Last of Us would outsell Halo. It was just used as an example to demonstrate the huge buzz the demo has generated. Of course 2012 sequels to Borderlands, Resident Evil and Halo would be getting more preorders at the moment than a new IP that doesn't even have a release date.

I don't think the game will do better than Uncharted. It's too late in the generation to build a new franchise to that level. 3-4 million is a safe bet.

Good bit here, although the OP did say "a sign of things to come?". Still, the result is a fest of unneccessary straw clutching.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but so far most have provided their personal opinions on why they think it'll sell the number that they posted, and the lowest nomination I've seen is 2.5M, which for a new I.P would be a great start in either case.

Would you have been happier if everyone went "Yep, 7M easy" even if they didn't believe it?

Also, maybe all this 'straw cluthing' isn't even there? Everyone's comparing Halo because that was mentioned in the OP...

Well internet hype is far different than real world hype. Much like a frog is different from a rabbit. they both hop so there's room for confusion, but it's still quite clear that they're different. We'll have to wait to see if this hype will build when a release date is made and we near it. I know I'm not interested, personally.

Food for thought: Shove an apple in your brain

anyone else remember naughty dog demoing uncharted 3 running at 60fps

that's good news. i hope T.L.O.U. becomes a huge success
