And this the engine that is supposed to be run by the Wii u??

I highly doubt Wii U will be able to run this.

Granted I hope I'm wrong I would love to see Nintendo enter the high end graphics race but I don't see it happening.

Rumors have it that late-term tweaks were made to the devkit to get it to run UE4

It's a non-issue, of course. Knowing Epic, they'll never officially support a Nintendo platform anyway.

Well, there´s a rumor around the web I believe... but yeah, I doubt it too

it all depends on where nintendo wants to put their money.  the tablet is going to be more expensive than a standard controller.  not sure how much but lets just say $20-30 bucks more.  MSony is very likey, imo, to lauch at $400 dollar or more.  if nintendo targets $300 or $350 then that is another $50 to $100 dollars more that isn't going to hardware specs.  $70 to $130 dollars more is quite a big jump in hardware specs MSony is likey to have, imo.

...and that's not accounting for the likey case that MSony will probably be selling at a loss at launch, something nintendo is not likely to do.

i'd ignore the rumors.  think about the core values of these companies.  superchunk can talk all he wants about "..after the ps3" but you and i both saw the vita.  they obviously haven't changed their stategy/values there so why should i believe they'll change for the ps4?!?

My mind will be blown when I see it running 60fps on hardware that costs under $1,000.

Not because of the spectacle, but just because it will a sign that developers are finally developing for the experience rather than developing for the screenshot. But hey, neat-o screenshot, dude.

I wonder how many developers will go bust next generation.

This gen saw a few caught out..

I was reading more about the engine in the Wired article, and I'm actually more excited about what possibilities it offers to developers rather than just the graphics alone. If developers can almost instantly change and view what they've done in real-time, then we are gonna see higher quality games this next-generation.

Think about it, with the increase in horsepower developers are gonna be able to do things that are impossible on today's consoles, but how much effort would it take to achieve those things? With UE4, it'll allow developers much quicker access time to view changes they make, and thereby being able to achieve the proper vision they originally had--instead of settling for something less because they couldn't implement it quickly enough.

I don't know why people tell me to get a life. I'm a gamer, I have lots of lives!

We can't account for suicidal corporations. As the Bankruptcy fairy flutters around Sony's shoulders, who knows what goes through their minds?
