Another day, another job listing, another unconfirmed development project. Fable outfit Lionhead is looking for a multiplayer level designer with "a deep understanding of online multiplayer games" and "an aptitude for critical thinking and analysis in order to help us define the multiplayer levels and experience of our ambitious new project."
The successful applicant will "act as a champion of the Multiplayer experience across all disciplines", suggesting that Lionhead's weaving multiplayer into the game's other aspects, rather than setting it aside as a discrete mode.
"Experience and passion for team objective based games, MMORPGs and other multiplayer games," is naturally requisite, and the team also wants to hear from somebody with "extensive knowledge of Unreal".
Lionhead's currently in-development Fable: The Journey runs on the Unreal Engine. The game lacks a multiplayer component that we know of, however, and with release coming this year, a last-minute addition seems unlikely. The studio recently got shot of Fable Heroes, a sweet-natured downloadable co-op brawler.
Check out our thoughts on The Journey's charming art direction, if you haven't already. More excitingly (sorry Lionhead), here's a list of http://www.oxm.co.uk/41473/features/nine-secret-xbox-360-games-were-dying-to-hear-about/">secret Xbox 360 games we're dying to hear about.
