New Super Mario Bros. 2 will outsell the top 10 PSV games shown off at E3 2012 combined. Lifetime.

why not do a "NSMB 2 will outsell the top 10 selling PSV games combined.lifetime." prediction or are you too afraid?

The point of predictions isn't just to be bold, but to be bold and correct. The top 10 PsP games add up to 43 million. Apart from the last two Sega systems, no major console has ever seen a lower total in software sales than that.

Realitistically, NSMB2 is going to reach a bit over 20 million, and possibly pass 25 million. The Vita wouldn't just need to be a flop to sell that little, it would need to be a larger miss than even Sergio Ramos could muster.

then he missed his point as it comes across as timid and correct *yawn*

I bet that the top 3 3DS games (LTS) will outsell the top 10 PSV games (LTS)

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I personally would prefer the new and exciting IP's being made by Sony than yet another re-hash Mario game by Nintendo... I mean they sell hence they keep making them but *yawn*

OT: Rol has gone soft, I fully support the multiplier addition. 1.5x a conservative one, 2x a more bolder one. >2x, for trolling purposes.

Pachter just recently said that he is excited for a yet announced Vita game he personally heard of. Who knows, maybe third parties are putting much more weight behind the Vita than any reasonable businessman would.

Lol. But still, you have gone soft.

You're making a  pretty rubbish bet here. Consider that NSMB2 is going to sell for years, so the Vita games will have to sell >35 million

news flash, Outside of Japan the 3ds is bombing baddly, granted not as bad as the vita though. Latest NPD numbers is 3ds = 125k.

the 6-7 year old consoles xbox360 & ps3 are kicking its butt in sales

You think it will sell 35million, mate youure dreaming, its not the ds. The handheld landscape has changed significantly, the rise of the smartphone has destroyed the handheld console market.

the 3ds is also sold at a loss, according to nintendo thus it will be a long time before it sees a pricecut.

I think my sig is very safe :)

All bow to me the VGChartz current reigning 3DS prediction champion

Bet with tbone51: Pokeon X & pokemon Y will not sell more than 8 million in 2013

July 2009 daveJ saidTrue the wii has a large lead now but by 2017 the most likely result will be 1. ps3 2. xbox360 3. wii <-- wii's successor launched in 2011 effectively killing sales of the wii

2009 daveJ said: The wii will not break the 50% marketshare barrier it will go below the 40% marketshare barrier though in the future. VGChartz members: Impossible, youre an idiot that knows nothing about sales

You're missing my point here. The chanes of NSMB 2 selling 35 million are virtually unexistant. The problem is, there are several factors that could lead to it getting close to that number late in its life, such as for instance the game being bundled.

Your other points are also a bit different from what I'd expect, and they have a completely different view of the world than I do, so it's a bit hard to comment against. You're making some quite quick assumptions, and some that are faulty/incredible overstatements. The 3DS isn't selling very poorly outside of Japan. Kowenchiki's brilliant graphs illustrate this rather well.

I'm going to hold you to that after E3 -- Sony had better have some of these "new and exciting IPs" you're talking about, because if all they show off are ports of console games and sequels to existing IPs, I will dig this thread up just to laugh in your general direction.

Also according to Nintendo, by September they'll be selling the 3DS for a profit, likely due to a reduction in manufacturing costs.

your not alone

If any one of those games happens to be a version of GTA 3:SA, a good MH or a good mascot platformer then I completely disagree. Otherwise I most certainly can't think of anything else that would garner sufficient sales to challenge NSMB 2.
