Forums - Sony Discussion - PSP RPGs: Which are the ones i should own?

Yeah, i own a PSP, but not a lot of games for it... so tell me, which ones are worth hunting down (and paying Tons of Money for, since some are pretty rare as of today.)

i only have Dissidia 012, Crisis Core and FFIV, i intend to buy a copy of Persona 3 Portable soon, but aside of this, i have no clue. (Keep in mind that i need A.) a great story, or B.) addictive gameplay, suited for quick sessions on the go.)

Oh, and do not recommend me Monster Hunter, while i loved MH on the PS2, MHtri made me feel like i've grown out of it, i cant stand to invest all i have into gear, that is worthless an encounter later.

Well, there's quite a list, but what kind of RPG are you looking for?

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Eh, I have no idea how you can include Astonisha Story and not include it's fantastic sequel. Crimson Gem Saga is great!

Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection (GET THIS NAO)

One of the veery few games i own already, and i enjoyed the Hell out of it.

(I have to say i still need to play Interlude and the After Years, for some reason i cant stand the fact that they seem to be damn linear.. i loved the fact that i always had something else to do aside of progressing the main Plot in the original Game.)

Daaayum, thats a long list... *googles 'em*.. what are your personal favourite's out of this huge list that you'd especially recommend?

Oh and is P2: Innocent Sin really good? i mean, Persona 4 is like my favourite game ever, but i could imagine that the prequels, offering aged Gameplay Mechanics, may be a Nightmare for me.

@Auron:

I'd love me some good, maybe cliche'd JRPGs, but i will look into everything people mention.

Is anyone playing Phantasy Star Portable 2 and can tell if there still is a community for the Online Modes?
I really liked to play PSO, and not so long ago, PS0 on the DS. (even though the latter was, sadly, not a long lasting one. =(.. due to the lack of content and individual ID's like in PSO.. those were the days.. seriously.. played PSO for like 500++ Hours in Offline Coop with Friends lol )

I hear TiTS is good.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Legend of Heroe's Trails in the Sky!
AKA TiTS

is my favorite. It's story is kind of predictable and the concept of the story isn't really the most epic (Junior Bracers!), but the dialogue is really great, and the characters I really loved. The graphics, are poor. The battle system is fun and grid based, though it's mostly really really easy, so it takes some of the fun out of what would have been a lot more strategic if it was difficult... though this isn't the only jrpg to have this issue.

I heard good things about Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, but I didn't played though.
Currently I am playing Persona 3 Portable and it's much better than it's console version, so if you love P4 you should play P3. It's waaaaaaaaaay better imo.

Also, maybe you can try God Eater Burst, I loved that game, put it around 60hrs it's a mix between monster hunter (don't worry I read your OP) and an action rpg, you can have a party and kill monsters. It's perfect to play on the go and it has local multiplayer plus a nice story :)

Can't recommend this enough. Amazing game. Only downside is that the ending is cliffhanger and getting the second installment is anything but sure because  PSP is pretty much dead software wise in the west. I am still hoping for Steam release though as XSEED has started to publish games in Steam and TitS is originally PC game.
