So much wrong with your post...

a. The Wii success doesn't mean it will carry over to the Wii U. Just look at what happened between the PS2 and PS3 transition.
b. No, they will "gravitate" towards the cheaper powerful consoles such as a PS3 or Xbox 360. 

In the end it all comes down to marketing and word of mouth. People won't buy a Wii U if they don't know about it. People won't buy a Wii U if they can buy the still new Kinect for Xbox 360 which is cheaper.

But the PS3 isn't a huge success in Japan....it is successful but the Wii sold better.

I think Sony really needs to do something to get people buying a Vita instead of a 3DS. But maybe Sony isn't aiming to be the market leader...who knows what their plans are.

denial is really a sad, curious thing.

Wii, PS3, XB360 and 3DS should teach us that you can't really say anything for sure until every console in a given generation has stopped production...

I'm well aware; it's a joke. People are just claiming that, when Vita drops below 10k in Japan, it's the END OF THE WORLD! Don't worry about it.

damn nintendo fans are slicing the vita up. guess sony fans better be keeping an eye on wii u launch cause i got a feeling its gonna be a bad one

denial or having a brain? its ridiculous that people decided the fate of the vita BEFORE it even released! have you not learned ANYTHING this generation? if nothing else atleast give the damn thing 6 months on the market. were the nintendo fans in denial when they said give the 3ds time after its botched launch?

if after a price cut and some good system selling games release for the vita and it still struggles then you can say it is failing.

isn't it out selling the DS is the same time frame, wonder why no one is commenting on that right? I just recently got a Vita and it's awesome!

Vita will do fine, love mine, but sales analysis is just that- analysis. People come to different conclusions. But your right it is really too early to consider Vita DOA. It is also unrealistic to not be concerned with it's sales trend especially compared to the PSP which really had a poor launch game line-up. At the same time the 3DS looked like a dud for quite a while so nobody knows and that's kinda where we should be right now.
