Forums - Gaming Discussion - Your one wish for Next Generation Consoles

What would you want?

locked 60fps or above 11 11.58%

Full HD resolution 14 14.74%

no more loading times 23 24.21%

free online gaming 5 5.26%

no more paid dlc 22 23.16%

physics rivaling reality 6 6.32%

scantily clad girls with ... 14 14.74%

Total:95

Well the 60fps and full 1080p HD resolution are both inevitable. Nintendo has led us to believe WiiU is going to be able to do both. Whether developers use that full power is less likely. Load times will never disappear.

Personally I am more excited about the tablet controller.

My biggest dream for next generation consoles is that the new controller interfaces and online systems will finally give consoles the ability to play all genres decently.

I am talking MMO's and RTS. Finally a console that can run all genres well. I could care less about ground breaking viauals when I can play Total War or StarWars:TheOldRepublic on a console.

I cannot fathom your conclusion that an underpowered console will lead to better game design.

i think what he's trying to say was that the wii was an underpowered console (compared to ps360) and if you look at games like the conduit and you compare it to games like halo/killzone you'll clearly see that the conduit is the best game ever, that dead space is better as a rail shooter than a third person shooter, and that if you compare ps2 games to ps360 games you'll obviously come to the conclusion that game developers didn't do anything to improve gameplay this gen.

OT - multi-tasking.

I think you should go back to PS2/Xbox/Gamecube and then SERIOUSLY reconsider what you are saying here. Many of the classic PS2 games are practically unplayable.

You are just like the people who say "Originality has been lost since the NES/SNES days". There is some type of case to be made that it's more risky  with contemporary game publishing, but the emergence of LIVE/PSN...cheaper titles completely negates that.

If you are being sarcastic with the underlined then I missed that, and this comment is for the other two above who disagree with me.

no more BluRay discs... downloadable games from internet using faster broadband speeds... no more game stores on the high street and for the generation after... no more hard drives and stream all data to the console. It's happened with music (Spotify) and movies (Netflix) so only a matter of time...

Oh yeah and allow other operating systems to be installed!

and where exactly would you want to install the other operating system if your console doesn't have a hard drive?

And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
