Forums - General Discussion - I've Never Seen Star Wars (VGChartz's confession booth)

Great thread.

Personally, I have never seen most of the "great movies" that I "have" to see (e.g. The Godfather). I find movies in general to be exceedingly long and boring.

I usually think movies are too short, even the special extended versions of LotR (they leave out so many good scenes from the book).

At a party last Friday I was talking to my mate's girlfriend when she asked me if I'd seen TopGun. I told her that I've never seen Top Gun, nor do I want to see it given the way people talk about it. She couldn't believe that I'd never seen Top Gun, like it was compulsory watch it.

That said, my friend and I were talking to someone a few weeks ago who had never read Nineteen Eighty-Four and she said that she didn't know anyone who has. I didn't believe her, I thought everyone in the world had read that book, at least most of my friends seem to have read it (even the ones who generally don't read books). Apparently not though.

I can easily believe that she's never read 1984 but not that she doesn't know anyone who has, that's preposterous.

I've never seen Top Gun and have read 1984, so I'm with you.

OP: I've never owned anything physical sold by MicroSoft (like an Xbox, a Windows DVD, a Word CD... nothing). I have a Hotmail account though.

Also never seen Top Gun (though I have seen Hot Shots, but I am generally more of a comedy fan than action fan)

And I have read 1984... though it is one of very few "must read classics" I have read.

I am amazed at how often I find myself agreeing with you, But I dont like movies because i find them to be too short and laciking in capacity to tell a good story, most films seem to me like adverts for stories that ccould have been good if done through a decent medium (only short stories really translate at full potential to film imo)

and great thread title too, I REALLY wish i'd never seen star wars...

Lol, thanks.

Well I usually find movies too long because they're not as interactive or interesting, but certain films can hold my interest. But yeah, I agree with you that they also don't often do enough to develop their own worlds. A lot of movies (like Avatar) present such a grand universe and show only a small portion of it.

Never seeen an entire Star Wars movie. Tried it twice but fell asleep both times.

Never really liked a fps. Tried Halo Annicersary, Killzone 2 and Black Ops (also Unchartd 2, though that's a tps. I kept thinking "wow, God of War 3 is so much better".

Same with Mario Kart and most racing games (Grand turismo bores the hell out of me).

Never owned a handheld until I bought a 3DS today!

Never been to a concert.

Never seen an episode of 2 and A Half Men.

Never tried smoking a cigarette or weed (and I'm 30 so if it hasn't happened yet it probably isn't gonna!)

Never played a Final Fantasy game.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

There are very few things I've never done. Nearly everything in this thread, I've done.

With that said, I've never smoked pot or used any drugs.
