Forums - Gaming Discussion - CNET: Handheld gaming to die in 2012. Vita not to release in the U.S.

Also contributing to my urge to kill is that they pegged the release of the NextBox as the start of the next generation, providing revisionist logic for the Wii U already

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Is Cnet that desperate for hits? I think the Vita is on the boat already from China to launch in the US.

I guess Cnet only likes anything Apple and Xbox. Two big advertisers.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

It'll be tough to predict how 3DS sales will pan out and if it will sell DS-like numbers over the next generation, but so far CNET could not be more wrong. I think the 3DS and Vita will sell less than the DS and PSP (respectively), but both should be very successful. Perhaps the December NPD sales will put some of these stories to rest.

I believe the douche bag with the blond hair streak lost all creditability when he stated that when Microsoft will announce their system it will be the first next gen system announced. I am so sick of hearing that the Wii U isn't next generation.

Don't you guys see? Cnet just trolled you all. No way is that video serious... Too many stupid predictions.

I predict that CNET will become CockNet sometime during the duration of this year.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

3DS made it over the hump and will be fine now. Can't say about anything else...

To be fair though, only after a ridiculous price cut, maybe this prediction isn't as stupid as it sounds.

I don't actually think handheld gaming is gonna die, but it may not be as popular as it used to be thanks to tablets and smartphones.

Psv IS DOOMED!

3Ds may have had a price cut but look at it now LOOK AT IT!. Even if the 3Ds plummets 3 months in another 50 or 25$ price cut and it'll be fine all over again. On that note i don't think it'll be going back down. It'll average out about 170,000 a week. Just my opinion

Thank you.....THIS. I'm surprised it took to over 30 posts before someone said it. They seem to be joking with about half of their predictions and even poking fun at themselves for previous years' predictions. At least that's how it came across to me. Damn, they got everyone all heated...lol.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

TROLOLOLOLOL dream on CNET, Vita is going to selll very well america and europe, compared to psp and 3ds is going to have crazy sales so everyone wins

it's the future of handheld
