First:
A8-3850 + HD 7670
400 VLIW5 + 480 VLIW5 => 880 VLIW5 -> VLIW4 => 704

Second:
A10-5700 + HD-7670
384 VLIW4 + 480 VLIW5 => 864 VLIW4/5 -> VLIW4 => 768

I have heard that the third generation of the test Orbis uses an APU with GCN2.
Unknown APU + HD8770
384 GCN2 + 768 GCN2 -> 1152 GCN2

It is assumed that the APU only has four cores because AMD doesn't plan to increase the core count other than the GPU cores from now on.

I find it hard to believe the HD8770 part, if only because the HD8xxx series of cards have been delayed to at least March 2013, making it a very risky bet for Sony (or Msoft) to use one of those cards if they plan to launch the console later in 2013.

Certainly it's not impossible, but it will bring another problems to the table (cost, available supply, etc).

Didn't they do that with the Vita?

Can't say as I don't play with handhelds so I don't pay too much atention to their development.

But being Sony, anything is possible.

Just look up the specs -_-' you have access to everything and anything you need to know at your fingertips. You don't have to own the console lol

umm not sure if you didn't read my complete post...but the latest 'rumor' is different from the specs you have in the OP right? For example the GPU. I am not tech savvy guy so unless I'm missing it I don't see any mention of the thebes-j  either

ummmmm yes it is all there in the first and second posts. Been there for months.

A8 and A10 are specifically mentioned. Those APUs come with the GPU you mention and if the it contains a 2nd GPU (extra to the APU) that is also mentioned inthe 2nd post.

As for "thebes-j", I didn't even see that mentioned in AMDs architecture designes for an APU. Maybe I missed it or its just new, but I tried to keep names that were for APUs and their Desktop variants (vs mobile).

Updated OP and 2nd post with final details of WiiU CPU and more info for GPU.

uhh your op is filled with 'possibilities' that people have been guessing since the start. You have no such specific information about the GPU (HD770) nor the APU. This is said to be the latest dev kit and this rumor came out about two days ago.

and no...this is a APU + the GPU mentioned combination..... The OP is filled with old info and a range of possibilities.

Anywho I am following the discussion at gaf...I don't understand most of it but what I understand is this would be an excellent set up for next gen if turns out to be true. Just thought I would drop this off here for everyone to speculate away

So far...

 CPU 1.25Ghz Tri-core
GPU 550Mhz

That's in line with what I wrote in the past... well the CPU is 400Mhz lower.

Now I see why the developer are clamming "slow clocked CPU"... bad CPU.

The OP specifically lists the APU A10 as having a "HD7660", not the "HD7670" as that is not what is inside the A10 APU as per AMDs specs. (look it up) Then you mention the HD8770. I also had that in the OP as a possibility. I didn't flesh out het specs of those cards, but its more unlikely anyways as its such a new card. (also, the APUs name the GPUs differently. The 7XXX in APU terms is actually a HD6XXX card and same goes for the HD8X is really a HD7X stand alone card)

The OP is not "filled with old info" its filled with the same info. It does have a range, though a small one, because the final parts are not known. We don't know exact specs for the model numbers. Whether it truly is 4 or 8 cores. What the clock speeds are. Whether or not its just the APU or has the APU plus an additional GPU. If the Ram is 4GB or 8GB. etc etc. That is why there is a range and that is why people at GAF are speculating and in most cases guessing based on rumors. I'm also on GAF and read the speculations by their users. For the most part it is all everyone is doing... guessing and speculating.

I only even replied to you because your first comment was so cynical as if the thread was completely false etc, when in reality you've brought literally nothing new to the table to support your "ummmmm". Basically you're first comment came through as being pretentious and kinda rude. You could have just came in and said, "hey, new rumor for new PS4 dev kits say the APU has an HD8770 as the GPU. While you make reference to the HD8XXXX already, this is more specific of a model now."

As for the newer specs... the HD8770 in an APU would be similar to a standalone HD7770. Which is a good card and would be a good base for next-gen. I will update the OP with that spec base.

fucking lol. Your OP is filled with 'ranges' of possibilities. I brought you the latest rumor..a set of exact components. Your op does not have it. Just tables of possibilities which were guessed for months now. For some reason I have touched a nerve because you think your op is perfect or w/e and because you thought I was being rude? lol talk about paranoia...ok then carry on. I rather not get tangled with your hissy fit over something lame like this.

ps: ALL of this is rumors and speculation. If yo uare not gonna discuss the latest rumors and act like this when someone brings one up..maybe wanna change the title of the thread. Cuz outside of the horrific numbers for the wiiu that we know we know absolutely nothing else. So at least keep the thread interesting by discussing the latest rumors as one pops almost every week now...just a suggestion

at least the gpu is decent right? ;)
how does 550 mhz stand against anything?

1.25GHz? What the fuck... Why so slow? Does it make up for it somehow?

We need to know the GPU model first... in clock alone it's equal to PS360 GPU but it can have more SPs and others features with can make a GPU 2x, 3x, 4x, 10x better at the same clock.

But the die is small so I don't expect a lot of SP units.
