Loved this movie. The whole case were excellent IMO.

I watch because of all these box office records and supposedly rave reviews. I can fairly say I won't be interested in Avengers 2, it's not a bad film by any means though.  If there's one horrible film I watch this year that was popular, it's Hunger Game with its terrible characterizations.

On the other hand, bring on The Dark Knight Rises.

$19 Million Monday for Avengers...very nice.

How does this compare to other movies?

http://boxofficemojo.com/alltime/days/f-th.htm?page=Mon&p=.htm

It's the 8th best Monday ever.

It's a great figure as the rest of the movies were released in summer when schools had holidays so Monday drops would be softer....while schools still in for most in America right now.

It's the 3rd best non-holiday Monday ever..

Not that impressive but it didn't drop much the next day and now is the 4th best Tuesday.  Will be the fast movie to gross $250 million domestically once yesterdays numbers come in.

I went to see The Avengers again this morning, but this time in 3D. And it was awesome.  It was the first time I've seen a movie in 3D btw.

Also, the Spider-Man trailer looked pretty cool in 3D. I was going to watch it in 2D, but now, it's 3D for sure.

Wednesday's numbers are in at box office mojo, The Avengers is now the fastest movie to gross over $250 million dollars domestically only took six days.

I want more Sam Raimi! Also are you forgetting Battleship Mordred? Has been pretty strong over seas. Which is a big surprise to me. Anyone see it yet? Any good?

Also I am happy you enjoyed The Avengers!

Those Battleship numbers are really not that impressive since its been out overseas since April 3 already in Japan and April 11 in the UK.  Even John Carter the biggest bomb of the year managed to make over $200 million overseas.  It was smart move by Universal to release it overseas first though, since I think it will have a hard time making over $100 million dollars domestically.  Reviews have been pretty bad so far its 6.4 on ign and a dismal 23/100 on metascore.

I think the point I was trying to make was it may be a little bigger than whatever the persson I was talking to said. America loves neeson and end of the world movies.

End of the world movies are trending downwards at the domestic box office 2012 made less then The Day After Tomorrow and both those films had slightly better reviews then Battleship and where more orginal.  Battleship is more or less a remake of Independence Day out at the sea.

But the question is whether or not you think the movie will coax movie goers to see it. Not whether disaster movies ae trending downward.

Dark shadows will not affect the avengers, but week three will.

I think a lot of people will skip it and instead will go see MIB 3 the following week.  That there are already tons of bad reviews for it will not help its opening week box office either.
