Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii will be able to download complete DS games

Reggie announced this news. I thought that the DS doesn't have an internal memory enough to store a game. I guess they will have to sell a blank card.

Anyway, I think this will be great for people who have both DS and the Wii. I personally am looking forward to it.

"Speaking with the New York Times, Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime has offered a little more info on the Wii's ability to interact with the DS. While we already know that the Wii will be able to download and transmit DS demos to the handheld, we now also know that you'll soon be able to download full games to your DS."

I've been doing this for a while now, about time Nintendo caught up.

How might you download full games on your DS? I wonder if they'll release a blank cart, or what. Cause doesn't it only have 2 or 4 mb of internal memory?

There have been 3 party cartridge makers that make DS cartridges with a slot for Micro SD cards, currently I have a 2GB one, holds many many games, so really Nintendo is playing catchup.

@ Troll_Monster

Oh, okay. That makes sense. thx

@Trollmonster: What is it that these cartridges you have were designed to hold? Or were they designed specifically for pirated games?

the cartridge just holds data, any form of data.

the micro SD card is just the standard SD cards you can buy off the shelf, what is needed is the inbetween ND cartridge adapter.

The user decides what form of data they want to put on it.

Well, the act isn't illegal but the data itself is, right?
