It has to be a laptop one. One for a desktop wouldn't fit in the slot which is pretty tight on the 2.5" hard drive.

not exactly sure i dropped it a few times when i first got it in 09 but obviously thats two years ago so i'd figure that any damage caused by the drops would have affected it before now, but i guess its possible the drops could have been a factor. All i know is that when i try to turn it on it beeps displays the green led to indicate that its on for a second then switches back off to standby.
Epoch said: Uh, I don't know how much I would trust this, as I don't think any iteration of the PS3 has ever used 230W of power. There have been several revisions, and I believe the power consumption is down to around 100-120W. |
It is based on what the power supply is capable of/rated for not what the console actually consumes.

Oh ok, i was just asking cuz I'm doing some research, I plan to get a PS3 within the next 6 months, so I was trying to figure out if it is reliable.

The official page confirms details from the retail leak. The new model, available in Charcoal Black, will have lower power consumption at 200 watts, lower weight at 2.6kg, and will include a 320 gigabyte hard disc. Pricing is set at ¥34,980, the same as the pricing on similar current models. The included accessories remain unchanged: Dual Shock 3, power cable, AV cable and USB cable.
Namco Bandai's previously announced Tales of Xillia X Edition hardware bundle will include a 160 gigabyte version of the CECH-3000 hardware. Aside from the X Edition release, Sony has not mentioned a solo 160 gigabyte package.
The X Edition hardware bundle is due on September 8, priced at ¥37,980. The hardware includes a special PS3 system and a copy of Tales of Xillia.
