Forums - Microsoft Discussion - just played child of eden. wow.

All reviews I've read agreed that it's good with Kinect (they usually even said that it's easily one of or THE best Kinect game so far) - but most said that it's still "better with controller", because of Kinect's inferior accuracy and responsiveness and arms getting tired very soon.

But now I think I will give it a try and rent it. Won't be buying it though, as I've read over and over again that it's ridiculously short for a full-priced game... :(

What a big surprise. Good reviews for a Kinect-Game and so the usual suspects try to explain how bad it really is.

Yeah, the length is why I would only rent it. I hear it only lasts around 2 hours or so.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Well if you play it through just once on "normal" setting and dont care about achievements then probably 2 to 3 hours or so.

But it has lots of replayability and it would take many more  hours to "platinum" it for example.

Anyone who wants to just race through on one play and then finish with it should perhaps play other types of games.

I don't usually go all out for platinums and such (Only achieved 1 so far in 4+ years) so it will most likely be a very short gaming session for me, that is why I will end up only renting it.

Still doesn't mean the game is bad. I just like to dump my money on games that last really really long, like RPGs.

I don't mean to be a buzz-kill, but I'd prefer to play with a controller. I know how motion controlling may be the future and what not, but here me out guys, I love to lay down and play my games. Just love to relax...

Nonetheless, the game does look pretty awesome though and on the topic of motion controlled gaming, I can't wait for Skyward Sword!

You shouldn't be mistaken for a buzzkill, it's just your preference. Plus it's not like you played it on Kinect and called it shit, right?

Well of course I haven't slandered or shunned the game lol, and I'm a lazy gamer laying down even when I play FPSs.

To be honest though id wait for bargin bin if you want to use controller. Its really wired. Its like a totally different game wiv controller. I certainly would not be buying if I had played wiv controller only today. I can't explain. its wired how this game is like made for natural motion. As if it always existed. Its better to just try itself. Its hard to explain the feeling.

Here's hopin loads of people buy this and as a result we get loads of dlc. I need this to last forever. I don't want to stop the feeling. Now, if I can get stoned next then play. It may become the best game I ever played. Lol.

Meh dlc or not, replaying games is fine with me

I also think this game looks interesting. I would like to try it out. I may buy it when its a little cheaper or comes with a deal though. I cant help it that im a money saver. :) 95% of my games are bought at deals and not full price.

Funny that when I said that,  I was subsequently 'Maximally owned' by someone.

@Nsanity, you couldv'e seen the discussion afterwards and seen that I'd agreed to the points made and then tried to gracefully bow out. No need to want to stomp on my head.

@kowenicki, in what way was I a 'trouble maker'!? I made a comment, accepted that the viewpoint wasn't correct and didn't comment on the issue of 'kinect is better' again. Something tells me that you WANT people to come in here (perhaps a Sony fanboy or so) so that you can get pwned.

Not cool guys.

I'll try it if my friend gets it as he has kinect, and im not going to play this on the controller, it seems like the sort of game that is unique but really only because of its kinect functionality

End of 2012 prediction:

xbox 360 : 73-75 million  playstation 3 : 72-74 million  wii : 104-105 million

Most hyped for :

Bioshock: infinte, The Last Of Us, Alan Wake's American Nightmare and Agent

Damn, I want this.

What's it like with a controller? I don't really have the space for motion control gaming, but if it is more or less like Rez, that's OK.

Can anyone explain to me what this game is like?
