Wii is easily more powerful than last gen. Not as much as it should have been, but it is 2-3x more powerful than xbox or GC and they where both a bit more powerful than PS2.

hell when i think of halo i seem to recal it lookin basically the same as halo 2 does, but when they showed a halo clip during the conference oh boy was i wrong.  Halo 1 looks HORRIBLE.

The wii uses the same technology as the X360 (which is even a little more progressed since unifing CPU/GPU on a single die). there will probably be a 30% performance boost max. compared to X360, mainly due to more memory available.

X360 use powerPC5... WiiU is rumored to use PowerPc7.

Those are far more than a 30% performance boost in base architecture.

nintendo has NEVER told us. why do you expect them to now? we ALWAYS have to rely on a few rumors or developer here says, or else once the console is FINALLY out, we have someon rip it open and give us their best figure on what they see inside.

If the console was actually more powerful than the current HD consoles, then Nintendo would not wait this long to admit it. They would instantly jump on the Yeah were the true next gen console ship. Since they haven't, its easy to assume that its just around the same stuff as the current HD consoles
