Why don't you own a Wii? Oh, so it's okay to "have" owned the Gamecube, but not the Wii? Go buy a Wii right now!

I don't own a Wii because I'm not a preteen boy who still gets off by Mario and Zelda. I'm 19 years old, so I like to play more intense games. You know? Games with better graphics and gameplay that appeals more to me, then collecting coins and jumping on mushrooms, which the Wii cannot offer. I'll buy the Wii when they start getting games that come on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, but that wont happen. Why? Because The Wii isn't next gen.

I.m.h.o New-gen is better then 'Better Graphics and same gameplay' which people like you would define with 'next-gen' But whatever, everyone can have his own opinion.

Btw... Everyone knew the PS3 wasn't dead... It just didn't meat the expectations everyone had expected (Hint: Look at PS1 and PS2 total sold numbers)...

But hey, it's tracking quite similar to the PSP a.t.m which is a healthy system!

Of course graphics matter and you'll see every Wii owner saying that it doesn't, because it's their only defense about the situation. When you play a game like Call of Duty 4, then you understand what next generation really is. From the gameplay, graphics, and the story, which the graphics have really made the games so much better, but people will disagree with me. I would rather play a game and go "Damn, look how beautiful this is". That really gets me into the story and gives it more of a realistic gameplay and makes me want to play more.

It's not just about graphics neither, but the gameplay for Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 has changed too. Now they can do more and add more guys to the level and make the levels huge, which gives them more of a opportunity to do what they've always wanted, but the Wii hasn't been able to do that. If picture quality didn't matter, then people wouldn't be buying HD TV's and better graphic cards for their computers.

More intense than Super Mario Galaxy, or Twilight Princess? In Galaxy, more intense than jumping across rocks, in the middle of scorching hot lava pools? More intense than leaping to the under-side of a sphere, by gravity, in outer space? More intense than wall-jumping, away from a bottomless pit? More intense than battling Bowser, with the sun, blazing, just in the distance? More intense than spinning across quick stand, by the help of a twister? More intense than leaping across freezing pools of water? And don't get me started with the Zelda franchise.

You assume Nintendo is childish, and have played too many games, like Grand Theft Auto, that have mentally dulled your wider appeal. Yeah, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 produce better graphics than the Wii. Okay? But games on those consoles do not have "better" game play than games on the Wii. They have "different" game play, but not "better." You have never played Super Mario Galaxy, and you have never played "Twilight Princess." You only assume that they are "not intense" enough, and that they are "too childish," because you've just been drugging yourself with shooters, and you've subconsciencly confirmed, to yourself, that the Wii is "childish." And then you say that the Wii "cannot" offer these, so called, "more mature" games? Well, what about "Resident Evil 4? Metroid Prime 3? Call of Duty 3?

There are many "M" rated games for the Wii, plus many "E," and "T" rated games, that are enjoyed by mature people, such as Super Mario Galaxy. The Wii is next generation, and it deserves to be, because its controllers are far more, technically superior, than its competition. Graphics alone do not make the next generation. And the Wii has many games that also came out on the Playstation 3, and Xbox 360, plus masterpieces that have not come on to the Playstation 3, or Xbox 360. You are incorrect, assume things to be the way that you want them to be, judge games you have yet to play, and have this mentallity that you are as mature as the games you play. Go buy a Wii right now and play Super Mario Galaxy

By the way, I like my Playstation 3, and Xbox 360, just as much as my Wii. Halo 3 kicks ass, Metal Gear Solid 4 is going to rule the world, but, unlike you, I appreciate "all" good games, and I don't limit myself to shooters, and such, because you think games like Mario and Zelda are too childish, just because they are on Nintendo. These games are not childish, and Nintendo is not childish either. Only fan boys think that.

@alex

I played SMG I think call of duty 4 has better gameplay.

If you think the Wii is for kids and PS3/XBOX is for adults you are kidding yourself. Though I dont know any people that own or want a PS3, but my friends are between the ages of 18-30. On the other hand I know people that have XBOXes and Wiis(all in the 18-30 age range) and the majority that have a system have a Wii. Now the fact that I have to deal with preteens shouting the N word all the time on XBOX live shows that the system is NOT an "adult" system. I am 26 and make a ton of cash, but dont want to spend my money on PS3, cause the games I want(mostly warhawk) dont justify a $4-500 dollar purchase. I have an XBOX but only play Gears (no games on the system really excite me, though I want to get mass effect) on it and spend the bulk of my Console gaming on Wii/GC. I own and have beaten 100's of games so I think I can be considered a hardcore gamer

Going back to topic, PS3 isnt dead, but PS3 might severely underperform compared to the PS2, and if PS4 does not do very well, it could mean the end of the Sony game hardware division.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

What?! Obviously the thing that generates the most revenue is the best, I mean, Spider-man 3 the movie is better than the Godfather right?

As in go buy us some coffee.

The sales don't define the console. Wii has better advertising that gets everyone into it, then Sony and Microsoft.

Just because you may think that one game may have better gameplay, does not mean for you to write off the "lesser quality" completely.

It all depends on what you expect from your console. Gameplay is pretty subjective abstraction and differs from one person to another. If you want to get a better graphics or good sound (worth of your many thousend dollars expenses) you may preffer PS3 or X360. At this point Wii is much more silmple. It is childish cuz the most of the games are casual and funny like cheap cartoons. they dont give you a sense of immersion or something. Like in CoD 4, Mass Effect or Uncharted.

And one again - it is all the question of personal favours. And they tend to change with time.

All those games that you mention really makes me laugh, wihich I don't want to try or play. Why would I buy a Wii to playing Resisdent Evil? Resisdent Evil is done better on a Playstation, which I will be buying Resisdent Evil 4 when it comes out for the Playstation 3. I'm different then you, because I don't get enjoyment out of those games, which is okay. By the way, I don't like Grand Theft Auto, which I'm not even looking forward too. If I was going to play a game that is "childish", then it would be LittleBigPlanet.

Carlos, if millions think the console is better than it does not necessarily mean that it does not fail in some places. Personally, I don't like the Wii, mainly because I don't like the motion sensor, and was not impressed at all when I played. I'd seen better graphics on my PS2, and it just felt like a step backwards from my PS3.
Anyway, just because more people bought a Wii, does not mean they all think it is better, they could just be buying it now and waiting for the PS3 price to come down.

Seen better graphics on the Playstation 2? Okay. Yeah. I've seen better graphics on the Nintendo 64. Look at the graphics for Off Road Extreme, on the Wii. They are horrible. Of course some Playstation 2 games have better graphics than some Wii games, but more Wii games have better graphics than more Playstation 2 games. Some Wii games have better graphics than some Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 games. Some Super Nintendo games have better graphics than some Nintendo 64 games. Some Genesis games have better graphics than some Playstation games. Yeah... So? If you compare only games with the best graphics, on different systems, than you will be able to judge the power of the consoles more accurately. Saying that some games on the Playstation 2, have better graphics than some games on the Wii, is extremely weak. And your last sentence is also incorrect.
