Forums - PC Discussion - So I traded my other new computer for a better newer one xD

Well my the graphics card in my Lenovo laptop was half broken and glitchy (and the computer did freeze twice) so I went to return the first one and buy a different computer and ended up buying a pretty damn nice laptop.

Specs are:

Asus Notebook G73w Series with a 17" inch screen, backlit keyboard and Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz

8GB of DDR3 Ram

Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M--http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-460M.33612.0.html

750GB HDD

I'm downloading the Witcher 2 as we speak lol....and yes I know that I still won't be able to play the Witcher 2 on anything more then medium most likely.

I assume battery life will be bad.

Well it said 4 hours but we all know thats a lie....but so far it looks like 2 and a half hour battery life with doing stuff like internet surfing/listening to music, and probably about an hour and fifteen minutes when playing games.

But I don't care too much about the battery life.

ya it sucks that companies can advertise false battery lives. Does the laptop get really hot. I'm looking for a laptop at the moment but I'm torn between getting one that runs cool and has a good battery life and getting one that can actually play modern games.

Hope you get the witcher 2 working on the laptop. I'm currently working on finishing the witcher, and once thats done will be getting the 2nd one as well, but at least for now I'm playing them on a desktop.

This laptop so far does not run hot...its been on for about 2 hours now and its only slightly warm. I'll let you know how The Witcher 2 runs on it after I play it, and how long it lasts on a battery whilst playing a games.

The Witcher 2 looks amazing on medium anyway :)

Is it comparable to 360 graphics on medium?

Yes and I think it looks better in many ways than anything on consoles, plus the art direction is very good.

Awesome I love some good eye candy! Can't imagine how good it would look on highest settings!

Lol, it was FATE that it broke.

And now you bought a laptop that is BETTER than mine. You youngsters and your damn sandy bridges.

You also live in a country where a laptop like mine would cost $800, whereas one like yours, ASUS especially, would cost me a couple of salaries!

@older comment - I was referring to the people that buy laptops that are newer than mine, that's all.
