Is there nobody out there understanding that Ninty gave 3rd parties a chance?

After the release of Zelda, Mario and Kart alone, it will be more difficult for 3rd party obv.

Nintendogs is a game built for the younger audience (you can still enjoy it as grown-up 4sure) and i think the price tag is too high for that group, compared to DS family.

After price drop this game will pick up in sales, imo.

I can't see any ship sinking here. It just left the harbour, son!

Nintendo is stupid for what they did and you are wrong. After the release of Zelda, Mario and Mario Kart it will be easier for third parties to sell their games, because more people will own the hardware. What has been holding back third party software sales on Nintendo systems all along was third party games, not Nintendo games.

lol@Rol

that's the answer i waited for...

It's somehow true, more HW sales lead to more SW sales, obv; you don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand.

Yes, 3rd parties SW sales failed on Wii and somehow on DS because their SW sucks, means lazy ports etc. (By the way, without some of the better selling SW on DS and Wii (better selling? wtf do i write? some of these games sold more than PS360 combined and i don't have to list it, should i?) many studios would have been f***ed up, means they would be bankrupted)

But what else could Ninty do to change that?

The answer is: delay of the own SW!

You know: Ninty tried it last time (DS) with your mentioned strategy. Releasing system sellers, leading to incredible HW sales. But 3rd party sales failed in some way (to be honest, they failed compared to Nintys SW. They got what they deserved and more, if you ask me, and far more than what a fair market price would be)

What else could Ninty do?

The answer is given!

If 3rd party can't sell the system it's not Nintys fault, but they at least gave them a chance.

That's it!

Yes and No!

I interpreted the Wii 1st party SW drought from fall 2008 to summer 2009 like you did.

Very much of what you wrote is true, imo.

Just the last sentences... this is indeed wrong.

MKWii selling trillions doesn't change the sales of *put in 3rd party fail*!

You're awake? It's night, late at night.

By the way, i'm drunk and i have to present a publication tomorrow at 10.00, in 5 hours, uggh.

You need to elaborate on what is wrong. Do you mean that Mario Kart Wii didn't help third party software sales?

Yes!

Sorry, i have to go to bed!

See you tomorrow, sorry, i thought it would take some time for you to answer.

nice, that it didn't. really!

oh, the presentation is in english...

i can't answer anymore, really, sorry.

bad timing

i liked it

I understand if Nintendo wishes to publish 3rd party games that are exclusive to one region, elsewhere. These titles are usually Japanese.

I also understand if Nintendo outsources some IPs to other companies to increase their own 1st party output.

HOWEVER

This "leave a gaping hole for 3rd parties to fill" is something I will never agree with. I can count 3rd party system-selling exclusives with one hand that actually exist.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

I'm gonna start a drinking game where every time someone posts a "3DS sales" thread that is really a "what Nintendo is doing wrong" thread, I'ma take a shot. I'll be drunk in minutes.

It's not the content of these threads, it's just that there are so freakin many of the same thread.

they all end with WAIT FOR MORE GAMES.

Woo.

LISTEN TO THE FIRST WORLD PODCAST REAL GAMERS, REAL AWESOME

The 3DS is obviously struggling...but thats a good thing, Nintendo´s best games comes when they are feeling the heat.

pwin´ every other villain since 1994

I don't see it picking up much, 3D Mario and Zelda won;t move the system, Mario Kart might boost it up a bit, but the sytem has too manyflaw working against it in the long run, and its sales are showing that, the low battery life, the price and the overall direction fo the software isn't likely to see it turn into a big selling system.

A nintendogs here and a Mario Kart there, is not enough to save this sinking ship.

A Mario Kart there is enough!

You'll eat your words.

I doubt it, but if it comes to that its ok, my words taste good sauteed
