Not really, the concept of the "rapture" was created and popularized by millenialists using a ton of random sayings from the bible to "predict" the end of the world, think of it as an old ass version of the Da Vinci code.  The thing that pisses me off is that it has become SOOOOOOO ingrained with mainstream Christianity that it's crazy.  I was raised Catholic and never heard any talk about it until I got a bit older and met folks that went to "charismatic churches".

The Wikipedia defintion states at the beginning of the explanation portion:

I can attest that most of the religious people over here in Romania (og which the majoirty are Orthodox Christians) actually believe this type of stuff. My mom keeps saying that the world is coming to an end everytime there's a natural disaster somewhere in the world, or it's too hot outside (LOL).

I called it. Jesus did return.....spiritually. And now he's just waiting for the REAL deal. Jehovah's Witnesses have been waiting about a century since Jesus invisibly returned. Camping's followers need to sit down, it's going to take a while. I'm sure that if you pointed this out to camping's followers they would think that JWs are insane and ill informed and that their erratic nonsensical numerology is way off base, and JWs think the same thing about Camping. Ah, the joys of religion.
