1. One site doesn't make a proper sample of opinions, even ones with varied opinions. The internet is just not a good sample for people in general.

2. Have you really looked at comments in a proper fashion to determine that even those on this site think that, or just look at some comments and inferred?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

^^ ive read certain post where the poster straight up said they ONLY buy Ninty products and i can tell at this point who has what console. im not saying most Ninty fans are like that, but lets not act like their isnt a group of people who arent Ninty zealots

I wasn't acting like there wasn't a group at all. You were acting like it was the majority group.

I'll wait for more reviews I reckon. The text means more to me than the score anyway

Why? lol NintendoPower rated the first 8/10, and it got 69 on meta ...

That's exactly my point. I enjoyed the first one, but it was hardly the best game of all time...

This second one looks vastly superior, but may end up getting a lower metascore, due to there being far more competition for the sequel than the original, just like with Red Steel 2. Red Steel was a new game on a console which was in uncharted waters, so was scored highly. The sequel was far better, but scored less on Metacritic. However, reading the reviews and watching videos of it showed how the sequel was the better game. I expect a similar thing to occur with Conduit 2.

Review scores =/= Review content IMO

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

the conduit wasn't a bad game, it was fun but had some problems. unfortunately it was overhyped by the press and some ninty fanboys so when it came out some rated it too high basing on hype alone (see ONM) while others too low due to disappointment. i personally think it was a 7.5 game.

the truth is that when the conduit got released there weren't many good FPS on Wii... there were only CoD:WaW, and Metroid Prime 3 (which isn't a pure shooter anyways), now even if HVS corrected some of the issues of first game the bar has been raised by CoD:MWR, CoD:BO and Goldeneye. So even if Conduit 2 is better than its predecessor i don't think it will get better scores... i believe it will remain in the 7 - 7.5 range.

seriously, have you seen some gameplay videos? both from a graphics standpoint anf from a gameplay standpoit it seems miles behind goldeneye and cod...

I enjoyed Conduit - but largely because it reminded me of the FPS I grew up with, Wolfenstein, Doom and Unreal (gameplay wise).

The single player mode wasn't worth replaying, but the online was a lot of fun - when it worked.   Slooow to get on and then to have it crash and you need to turn your Wii off and start over...  no.

If they fixed the online issues, I'll get it alone for that.  Story mode looks far improved though as well.  Look forward to reading the reviews.

Frankly while 7.5 is a disappointing score, it's not surprising.  This is HVS, not Valve, Epic or Infinity Ward.

And correct me if I'm wrong but is this not the only FPS on Wii with split-screen online?

Heck, split screen online isn't that common on HF FPS.

@lordtheknight i wasnt saying there the majority, hell, no one really knows how much there are but going to gaming forums you can tell they are definately out there.

@conegamer WTH are you smoking??? Red Steel 1 has a 63 metascore and 2 has 80, thats a huge difference

But asking "why would a DS fanboy hate a Wii exclusive game?" implies you cannot comprehend anyone other than that group. If you didn't mean that, then why ask that?

Trust me, I've gotten into a few needless arguments by not watching what I was writing.
