I would assume that netflix would look better on a HD system than on the Wii, but as someone said, not everything is running in HD mode.

To be honest, Im disappointed with the crappy selection on Netflix. May just start using redbox instead.

Xbox 360

It is a twesterm thread, it won't be pro PS3

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

My 360 looks better than the PS3 but I always thought it was because I have my PS3 setup in my bedroom wirelessly.  I will have to unplug my network cable from the dish network receiver and see if I notice a difference.

Now that I think about it though, my netflix signal has full bars so the wireless probably doesn't matter so much.  Could it be because Microsoft created Silverlight and they have integrated it better into the 360 than Sony has with the PS3?  I am not saying that MS is sabotaging the PS3 but they created the software so naturally they would be able to make it look better on their console.  Just a thought.

Would love to make a comparison but Netflix is not available and I am still waiting for LoveFilm to do something with the 360 they have with the PS3 (Lovefilm UK version of Netflix effectively).

Is the Xbox the only one tightly integrated into Netflix? I know the PS3 was on a Disc not sure if that changed and can only assume the tighter integration may provide a better service or indeed a worse service as it might not be as current as the PS3.

I only have 360s in my abode (3 in all) which are in separate parts of the house. One is my may game box if you like and is located in my conservatory but it used to be in the living room but got the elbow because of Kinect getting to much game time and preventing my wife watching Dancing on Ice. The bedroom one is my media extender which primarily is used for watching Sky Player and streaming. The last one is my boys and he has it in his room and does what ever boys do with these things.

I cannot say I have noticed any difference on them playing Zune or Sky Player or even streaming duties but then they are all Xbox's although spanning the entire life of the Xbox 360. The downside of losing the 360 in the living room is I now cannot watch Zune HD movies which I actually loved.

It is interesting how the modern HD console is being used in homes and how diverse its use has become. This is my main reason for suggesting this life cycle will be longer than previous generations.

Kinect as seen by PS3 owners ...if you can pick at it   ...post it ... Did I mention the 360 was black and Shinny? Keeping Sigs obscure since 2007, Passed by the Sig police 5July10.

I actually haven't specified which one I think looks better for that purpose.

There are actually things I like better about the PS3 Netflix and things I like better about the 360 Netflix.

Holy crap man how come you have so many consoles, in one house? (Jealous)! Also why no Wii. Now I have watched on PC, Wii and PS3. Of the two consoles (PS3/Wii) I thought the Wii looked best, but I still think PC beats it. I haven't tried it on 360, I just discontinued my NetFlix service so I can't run into my living room and compare!

I have two 360's (one slim) and two PS3's (one slim, one BC).

And as for the Wii and PC, I just have never bothered with the Wii because it can't do HD.  Not everything I watch is in HD, but I like having that option because I don't always know what I'm going to watch when I turn on Netflix.  I just don't really use it on the PC since I don't watch movies on my computer monitors.

In my experience:

Xbox 360:  Looks great when the connection is good.  Whenever the connection speed changes, the picture quality changes.  On a good day, it's best.  On a bad day, it looks like youtube. It's like Forest Gump's life.  You never know what you gonna get.  On the plus side, it seems to automatically optimize itself based on connection speed.  Bottom line:  It ranges from being best to being the worst.

PS3:  Never once had an interruption based on connection speed.  It always looks good.  Loads faster than 360, too.  On a good day, the 360 looks better but those good days are few and far between.

Wii:  Again, it loads lightening fast.  No breaks in the action due to connection speed, either.Has the worst picture quality but sometime the 360 actually looks worse!  Awesome interface due to the Wii remote, though.

For the record, PS3 and 360 are using wired connections and are connected to 1080p LED HDTV with HDMI Cables.  Wii is Wi-Fi connected and connected to same 1080p LED HDTV with Component Cables.

That makes no sense. It all depends on your internet speed. I suppose it would look the worst on WII because it has to be wifi though.

That was my thinking too but there's a pretty huge and noticeable difference between Netflix on my 360 and Netflix on my PS3 and that difference is the same on two different TV's with a different 360 and PS3.
