They better not replace Johnny with that stupid robot again.  Am I the only one that remembers the robot?

Boy am I old...

Actually, the original Human Torch WAS an android. The Fantastic Four Human Torch was a straight rip of that character, who was created around the same time as Cap and Namor (WWII-era).

That Human Torch was used as a template for the Vision, right? Or was that later disproven...

I believe that is the story, yes. Something may have changed but last I read about it, that was the case.

edit: I read up on it and The Vision was actually created by Ultron.

The vision was created by ultron, using the original Human Torch's body and the brainwaves of Wonderman.

Oh, and btw, amp316 was talking about this i guess. Herbie the robot replaced the Human Torch in the 70's cartoon, because they were afraid that kids may try to light themself on fire to emulate Johnny Storm.

ultimate comics are unpredictable but bendis wouldn't take it in an unpopular direction. spider-man already died once.

When did Spiderman die in ultimate or mainstream universe? Ultimatum left him alive and breathing. Are you talking about Ben Reilly? He was a clone, he doesn't count.

You mean the original Human Torch? Or a different one?

I read comics, well, Marvel comic. But death in the MU has become redundent. Many characters can easily come back to life due to many amount of ways, as we've seen even with Cap. It's a shame as there are many characters killed nowadays to make stories good.

Recent 2nd Coming in X-men saw the death of 2 major characters and a few others as well. All needless and pointless because writers and editors cannot think of ways to make stories cool anymore. Their only solution is deaths. Meaningless ones at that.

EDIT: I for one am not reading Thanos Imperative book but know of it the Space events have been very bad for this whole 'have a death to make the story more prominent or threatening.' Their total disregard for the characters and the creators of them is somewhat disturbing. Marvel might approve a death but what of the original creator?

Infact I'd go to say deaths in comics make me angry because i feel it's the last resort of a writer to make his story count.
