What the hell is the harm in believing in a higher being? Show me HARM IT DOES. God gives me strength whether hes real or not, for some reason believing in a higher being, true or not, gives you faith and happiness. Whats the matter with most of you? Thats fine if you dont want to believe but NEVER attack those who do.

Even if jesus wasnt divine, or heck that was someone else, imitating killing someone by crusification is not funny at all and people should be slapped by that.

I thought it was hilarious. Nobody got hurt in the filming of that stupid Jew-hating movie made by a stupid Jew-hater, and nobody got hurt in the Wii parody video, and nobody got hurt by ME LAUGHING MY ASS OFF at it.

Come on guys. I'm all for discussion and the exchange of ideas. But this started out bad and only got worse. If someone would like to start a religious discussion thread in which people actually treat eachother with respect, I'll gladly post in it. But this is in serious need of some locking.

that's cute, but that's like saying that a child is at gunpoint to do well in school and get good grades in order to find a well paying job that they enjoy, and that they should strive to do well only because they like seeing the letter A on their paper. They aren't really learning, they're just trying to get a job! I refuse to believe in learning at gunpoint!

Why exactly is it wrong to have a reward for doing something good and a punishment for doing something bad? And the whole point in Jesus is that even if you screw up, you haven't necessarily lost the chance at the reward. What happens if you get pushed to the point where you DON'T want to be a nice person, will that make things okay?

So now my question to you is this. Why are you still alive? You apparently aren't afraid to die, and you don't care what happens when you do.  As you say, nothing will happen. But what if you're wrong? After all, it hasn't been proven. I mean, heck, if i'm wrong, i sure won't be worried about it after I'm dead, cause i'd be gone, right? What if you're wrong though? I mean, heck, even if you get into heaven, it's gonna kinda put a crimp in things to know, for all eternity, that you had been totally wrong all your life.
