1. She's 60. There are many senior citizens who would not say that word, so don't use her age as an excuse. She's old enough to know what is right and what is wrong.

What i want to know is why did this mail carrier get fired???  This is just wrong.

1. 60 is pretty old dude. That means she grew up in the 50's/60's and there was still segregation back then. Yeah she should know right from wrong but when she was growing up that was still acceptable in some areas.

2. I watched the first couple minutes of it.

The point is its a racist old lady, who cares what she said? Is she a celebrity or a politican? No, she's some old lady who doesn't like black people apparently. There's no law against being racist, she can say what she wants under freedom of speech.

As you can imagine the USPS says he was fired for something completely different.

“The video posted on YouTube was quite disturbing,” spokesman Christine Dugas said in a prepared statement. ”We immediately pursued this incident, through the local police, which, in turn, pressed charges.”

Dugas went on to state that due to privacy act protections, the USPS is not permitted to discuss employee issues. 

“That said, let me assure you that the employee’s job status has nothing whatsoever to do with the video. The Postal Service values our diverse workforce.  In fact, Black Enterprise and Hispanic Business magazines ranked the Postal Service as a leader in workforce diversity.”

Also worth noting that the reason the lady got off "free" was that he apparently refused to press charges and refused to be a witness at here hearing.

Horrible act.  I'm not ready to just assume it was related to his firing at all though.

I'm in the same boat as you, Kasz.  I'm not naive enough to take one side of a story and accept it as fact.  I actually dismissed the video as soon as I saw it.  Clearly, this lady is batshit crazy.  We don't know anything about the guy.
