It has to be wrong; if it was true, the title of this very thread would be false as well.

 The NPD leak came from Gametrailers Invisible Walls I think, and I doubt it was just made up or false. Although no one ever really worked out over what period it represented, I think it maybe cut off the first few days of launch or something? I dunno, but there is definitely some disagreement between those NPD figures and VGC, hopefully we'll get a better idea from Actvisions yearly report or something.

I wouldn't say that show is beyond thinking they made it up, considering the hate they've said about the Wii and Nintendo in the past.

Didn't Nintendo and Activision both say sales were doing great?   I doubt they'd both consider 73k as 'great'.

 They had alot of figures for games though, including sales numbers of the top 10 and some other random stuff.

 The Goldeneye figure is a bit of an oddity, I'd be swayed to VGC maybe over tracking it's initial launch but it having a strong xmas once the holiday purchasers started buying stuff.

That doesn't mean they wouldn't try to spin a number to make this game look bad. The people on that site have done a lot of Wii bashing in the past.

why are we even comparing Goldeneye to Bloodstone they are two different games in two completly different genres, Goldeneye is selling well because its a good game and got decent ads/coverage. end of story. there is no PS360 version of the game for gamers to buy and its not some late ass port.

1. Really? The fact that they are both Bond games released at the same time, also in lieu of a movie release (due to MGM having money troubles) isn't enough reason to compare them? Plus the comparisons have been going on well before this thread.

2. Completely different? Perspective and different gameplay mechanics doesn't make them completely different. And Gears of War shows the line between TPS and FPS can be very blurry. Actually, games like SOCOM do as well.

3.Where was I denying that? The point is why it's selling better than Blood Stone on all its systems combined, not merely selling well on its own.

4. That doesn't matter. Many were claiming the Blood Stone was the "consolation prize" for those systems, which is almost unheard of with those systems. They are seen as the inferior games, while Black Ops is seen as the inferior game on the Wii, and thus sales are favoring what is seen as the superior game.

@I never got the comparision, the ONLY thing they have in common is that they star James Bond, we dont compare 007 racing, to Agent of Fire both are in completly different genres.

different genres is different genres. yes they have similaritys but they are still and at least for the forseeable future different genres plus Bloodstone has some driving parts so its not all just TPS

its selling better than bloodstone because HD gamers dont care about Bloodstone, there are so many better games on both systems that have come out around the time of Bloodstone that no one was really looking for it, not to mention the game had no advertisment and Goldeneye is reviewing better and has advertisment. im not making excuses for Bloodstone thats just the way it is, personally I bought Goldeneye over Bloodstone (too much PS3 games anyway)

not disputing that fact, "consolation prize"??? sure but trust me there is very few people crying foul, there are too many damn FPSs on HDs anyway.  Im sorry but at this point COD on Wii will always be seen as the inferior version. Even if they did cram all that content from HDs on Wii, (which they cant) there is no gaurantee that DLC will be put on Wii and the visuals will always look better, thats just the nature of the beast

I find it interesting, but I feel that your implying that Bloodstone is some "inferior" version to Goldeneye that is impossible as the games are completly different. Different actors, storylines, gameplay elements, settings. a better comparision would be Transformers War for Cybertron, that game never got made for Wii and instead it got some crappy on rail shooter

quick comparison, gears of war 2, which has been out for 2 years now, spent plenty of time circulating as a used game,  and allows multiple usernames to be used from 1 console has 4 million players to 6 million copies plus downloads, so a 2 to 3 ratio

now for vgchartz number to be close roughly correct the game would need a 1 to 4 ratio, personally that seems reasonable to me considering goldeneye hasn't been cooking on used game shelves and hasn't been used to take 2 players online at once

one other things about the invisible walls coment, the comment was made as if they weren't even sure what the game was, not to mention they're were other errors such as just dance 2 having lower sales than Assassin's creed, despite assassin's creed having more units sold.  Not to mention the guys behave as professionally as I've come to expect for video game "journalists"

also  worth mentioning bloodstone was at about 80k across both platforms on the twins according to vgchartz after 1 montion in NA, wonder if how ever was looking at the data read off the wrong game?
