By "richer" I mean the country as a whole. When a middel class will develop those people will be able to have decent living conditions, and will have better access to information and education. The younger people will be influenced by the media and Western entertainment. Not to mention that as living conditions improve and more and more people will get past their own ignorance they'll start rejecting the restrictive, authoritan elements of their culture. People there will start embracing and fighting for things like human rights, geneder equality etc. (idas developed and respected in the West), even if those things are against their traditional  cultural norms, because all people want is happyness and freedom, (and for better or for worst the Western culture has done a better job of offering people that than any other place in the world). Restrictive, authoritan societies only survive as long as the people are ignorant enough to not relise that things can be better.

And culture is constantly evolving, people are influenced by every bit of information they recieve, and in this day and age when people have access to the Internet and watch movies and TV shows it's not hard to guess which culture is infleuncing the world the most.

As for your "pride" argument, some local elements will remain (if you go to any part of your home country you'll see that there are specific practices and traditions), but overall culture worldwide will become more and more homogenous (which is a very good thing I might add).

You and I are on the same wave length. I agree with most of your comments whole heartedly. I think the Western world could do a lot better though by not supporting repressive and dictatorial regimes like we have done in the past and still do today.

I m not really sure about the "One Culture" for the world.

The tendence is to create local-based likes than global-based ones, You only need to look for example the English, French and Spanish situation, most of those languajes are changing in diferent places and they will eventually tore their structure and turn into a lot of derivated languajes.

You only need to look at the Latin situation back in the roman empire age, it gave birth to "vulgar languages" such as Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Catalá, etc, etc.

Hmmm...well we are talking about culture, not languages. I don't really think that there's a significant difference between a French speaking person in Montreal, and one in Paris. There may be some diferrences (especially in terms of slang), but the formal use of the language is the same (and kindergardens and schools where kids are taught formal language at an ealy age perpetuate this). The languages would have to become influenced by other languages and merge (the process that led to the formation of the Romance languages you mentioned), and that seems unlikely to happen in modern societies.

Plus, thanks to modern means of communication, communities are no longer isolated as they once were. That is a factor also.

First of all I never said that "everyone who is patriotic and proud of their country is blind, hateful, ignorant and xenophobic". I'd much rather call a person who is xenophobic "blind, hateful and ignorant".

There's nothing wrong with beeing patriotic, I guess (but in excess it can certainly make a person bling to their countrie's/culture's faults), but objectively speaking not all people can be proud of their countries and their cultures (I certainly wouldn't say that peopel from thrid world countries have any heritage to be proud of).

Irregardless of where one's born, one doesn't have to limit his/herslef to the place/culture they where born in. Blindly following and supporting a culture that has more faults than positive elements is not a virtue. You can't improve yourself and the world around you if you don't think critically and support a country/culture just because you were born into it.

I know about lots of bad things in my culture and there's lots of stuff in my country that i dont like, but that sure as hell doesnt mean im gonna reject everything and accept someone else's  culture because i get more payed. That kind of person is the biggest traitor and disgrace to his/hers country. And better education is not gonna make me abandon everything i stand for.

It's not about beeing payed more, but when a country becomes more developed the people become richer, and consequently become more interested in intelectual pursuits. They get better access to education and broaden their horizons. They'll develop critical thinking and realise that there are negative elemnts within their country/culture, and that other countries/cultures don't have those negative elements and instead have better values and principles. Not all elements must be rejected, just those which are negative (and in the case of third world countries almost everything about their countries/cultures is bad).

A person is not bound to the place where he/she is born, nor to the culture he/she was born in.

When you say "everything i stand for" I must ask why do you stand for what you stand? And do you think that if a person is born in a certain country they must automatically stand for what that country/culture promotes?
