They get annoyed when shows like south park try and portray Muhammad because its against there religion to draw or create something that someone thinks is Muhammad. its not against Christian religion to draw Jesus.

My main problem with this is that THEY aren't suppose to do that. NON-MUSLIMS don't have to follow the commandments of the Musilm religion, so I don't get what all the protests are about.

But if you are a descent person you'd respect their rules.

If they're decent people then they'd respect our rules (that is if they want to live in Western countries).

Which rules?

Laws and civil rights.

how have they broken them?

Wearing Burkas in situations when it's not allowed, muslim doctors refusing to wash their hands before surgeri, muslim men beating their wives and expecting to get away with it, their overall sexism etc.

your wording is wrong! they are not our holy books or bibles. we have no ownership of the lords word. it's for all including the non-believers.

christians are and have been tolerent and christians have had there past persecuting jews and the lot of them. the north or western ideoligy preaches tolerance and when our actions don't show that tolerance then we are looked at as hypocrites. it's called practic what you preach, besides god would not aprove and you know it.

Rath said- "Religions don't need to name themselves within their own religious books to be a religion, I don't see how this argument works. Also Christ means, I think, the Messiah in Hebrew. It's an epithet not a name.

It's also mentioned in the bible in case you're wondering. http://bible.cc/matthew/16-16.htm

So, you could name a religion at your will? I don't think so. A religion should be mentioned in the scriptures or at least described by the Prophet of the religion. As the term 'Christianity' is made up, so are the terms 'Trinity' and 'Rapture'.

Of course 'Christ' could be mentioned in the bible. But I wonder if Simon Peter could speak English.

And more interesting is that unlike Quran, the original text of Bible is not available so you could compare if there is any mistake in translation. The nearest text found is 200 years after Jesus (pbuh).

The original Bible was in Hebrew. One verse from Bible shows Jesus (pbuh) spoke Hebrew when he was 'supposedly' taken into crucifixion, he cried 'Eli, Eli, Lama sabachthani' (O God! Why did thou forsaken me). But rest others are Greek and then translated into other languages.

And don't forget -

Christians -

1. make their women prostitutes

2. drink alcohol and take human lives by accidents

3. do incest with blood relations

4. wear short and sexy dresses so many people get excited and commit rape on innocent girls even if there are prostitutes available. Look at the sex related crimes in Christian countries.

5. Talk about freedom of speech but don't let others talk (Iran, Iraq or Afghanistan)

6. make relations outside their marital relations. Adultery is common nowadays. So, why would you blame Muslims for sexism. Look at your own condition. At least Muslims legalize the sex by marrying. Christians simply have sex and take no responsibility whatsoever.

7. Invade others and try to impose what they think 'right'. The example of Crusedars is in front of us and we saw what the Christian world did in Iraq, Afghanistan and Vietnam. Now they are planning to do the same with Iran for a crime which they committed several years ago (making of nuclear bomb) and applied it on innocent people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

This list can go on but I want to put a fullstop here. Why should I blame the religion for the acts of its followers. The followers can be wrong, the followers can misinterpret the scriptures.

So, I would blame those persons involved, if it is a muslim committing crime, I will condemn him, and if it is a Christian or Jew, I will condemn him too and not the religion.

@ babuks:

Christians -

You should note that the West is secular. We have freedom of religion over here, and lots of people (like myself) are not Christian, nor do they follow Christian rules/principles.

1. make their women prostitutes

First of all I have a problem with the word "their". Women belong to no one else other than theirselves and they have a right to do whatever they want. Women aren't objects. Second of all WTF are you talking about?

2. drink alcohol and take human lives by accidents

DUI is illegal over here. It's not an encourraged behaviour.

3. do incest with blood relations

O_o ??? Don't know where you got that one.

4. wear short and sexy dresses so many people get excited and commit rape on innocent girls even if there are prostitutes available. Look at the sex related crimes in Christian countries.

Believe it or not but a man can control himself when he sees a woman in a sexy dress. If doesn't that's totally his fault and he'll go to jail. You having said what you said reveals a lot about your primitive mentality. If you ever visit the West I hope the women in a sexy dress you'll try to rape ('cause you just won't be able to control yourself) has a gun. Also, if you'd count husbands forcing themselves on their wives, which is a crime over here, but I'm sure perfectly acceptable over in your country, I'm sure muslim societies have a lot of rape too.

5. Talk about freedom of speech but don't let others talk (Iran, Iraq or Afghanistan)

Those countries themselves have (or "had" in the case of Iraq and Afghanistan) no such laws. And once can hear Iran's president spill his nonsense all the time.

6. make relations outside their marital relations. Adultery is common nowadays. So, why would you blame Muslims for sexism. Look at your own condition. At least Muslims legalize the sex by marrying. Christians simply have sex and take no responsibility whatsoever.

Considering that you people kill people who commit adultery, I'm quite sure proplr over there take extra precausions not to get caught. I doubt adultery doesn't exist in you countries, and I quite frankly don't see ut as such a big problem here in the West, compared to other big issues we have. And I'd personally take sexual freedom over the sexual repression you got going there any day pf the week.

Firstly, after reading your post I'm sure I'm more "right" than you are. Secondly, none of those wars were about religion. Thirdly, a wacko like Iran's president shouldn't have access to nuclear weapons.

This list can go on but I want to put a fullstop here. Why should I blame the religion for the acts of its followers. The followers can be wrong, the followers can misinterpret the scriptures.

True, quite true. Happens all the time actually.

So, I would blame those persons involved, if it is a muslim committing crime, I will condemn him, and if it is a Christian or Jew, I will condemn him too and not the religion.

Very nice of you. Don't want to know how you'd condemn them though.

You really don't know your own religion.

Yes I do. While you understand nothing about Christianity and you're only making a fool of yourself in front of all these people.

No you don't!  The new testament clearly states that ALL of the old testament still applies.  You can pretend Christianity is whatever you want it to be, that doesn't make it so.  You are clearly like most Christians that only pick the parts of the Bible that match what they think Christianity is.  But if you are going to do that, then you and others are being hypocrits when you state that the Quran is more violent than the Bible.  You have definitely not read or understood the complete Bible.

To say I know nothing about Christianity is very presumptuous.  I was raised Catholic and finally decided after confirmation that I had had enough of the fairy tale.

And your the one that continues to make a fool of yourself, just like you did in the evolution thread.

Being raised Catholic doesn't say much. Half of South America are raised Catholic but that doesn't mean they are Christians or have much knowledge of Christian theology.

And you're ridiculous when you say that the NT says that all in the old Testament still applies. The NT says that The Law and the prophecies of the Old Testament still apply. For a Christian this is ABC.

1) Christians preaches against prostitution as it's not Christ-like.

2)Christians stands against alcohol and drug abuse as it's not Christ-like. Now there are many Christians  who used to be drunks before they became Christians.

3) Again Christians stands against this.

4) Christians preaches christian women should dress modest

5) Freedom  of speech in the Constutition of USA. This freedom helps make the governemnt accountable to the people.   Christianity is about holding your tongue.

6) Christians preaches against adultery but doesn't agree the government should kill or punished those who commit such act.

7) Christians continuely fought against these "politicial " churches until finally in America they got the freedom of religion.... more like freedom from these polticial churches. Americans still today want to have some distance between the church and government.
