Just saw this on gaf. Age of Empires Online looks really cool. A fun art style with back to basics gameplay, and free to play to boot. It's being made by Robot Entertainment, which is the best they can hope for at this point, though it's still a shell of the former Ensemble. I once again have to wonder why they shut the studio down, considering they're chasing down the scraps to work on the same types of games they were known for in the first place.

But whatever. More Age of Empires!

As far as AOE games, this kind of looks like crap. Also does the Online will mean it's an MMO or what?

Edit: Reading the website, wow this has to be the most retarded, dumbed down, noobed up, retarded AOE I have ever seen. I don't think a 5 year old would have bee able to come up with the concept of such a simple game.

Edit2: I had to install GFWL to get signed for the beta and I already feel my PC is dirty.
