GT5 will not sell 10 million. It will pass 5 million for sure, but it will not reach 10. No game on the PS3 will reach that level. Microsoft and Nintendo segmented Sony's fanbase early on. I cannot see it.  Games like Halo and gears that sell 5 to 10 million sell that way because they are crack for multiplayer fanatics. Nintendo has had multiplayer covered since the very beginning and has broken 10 million themselves multiple times over. Anyone see a trend here in what people see as quality this gen?

Realistically speaking I think 2 is max this gen for PS3.

MW2 WILL reach 10Mil Lifetime.

Gran Turismo 5 is the only other game that has a chance but right now it's not so favourable. Like I'm guessing that GT5 could very well reach up to 8 Mil without major trouble but we'll see whether it can reach 10 Mil.

GT4 barely made 10MM units on a much larger install base.. But I suppose it has a  shot if MW2 can hit 8.5 already...

Not quite. Another 1.5M would give it 9.8 million- close, but not there. And if he's setting that as the upper end of a max, then he's not predicting it to hit. And truthfully, neither am I. I peg MW2 to end a little below those numbers, at 9-9.5 million.

The topic at hand, I'm only seeing 1. GT5 might do it, but I think it'll be tight. If it sees decent bundling in NA, it probably will be it. If it doesn't, it leaves me an out for some other game breaking out on the PS3, but...
