A Japanese game that uses the pointer?

I want to believe you, but I just can't.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers.

Wait. What?

Anyway, they're being quite innovative with the battle system in this. Let's all hope we get positive localization news, though i don't have many doubts given that this is clearly a top-tier project, and NCL is probably going to push NoA towards localization, since they're gonna want money back.

This game needs colour like men needs water.

i agree, from the scans the colors look cool , but from the trailer , it looks very generic.

I'm keeping an eye on this game, hopefully it'll be good enough to become the first jrpg this generation to break a 9.0(besides demon's souls). If it does, I'm definitely picking it up to play on a friend's wii : )

Intel core i7 930 OC @ 4.0 ghz

XFX Double dissipation Radeon HD 7950 356 bit 3gb GDDR5 OC @ 1150 MHz core + 1575 x 4 memory

Triple channel DDR 3 12gb RAM 1600 MHz

I love how the game is turning out but I'm not gonna get my hopes up.

After that whole Tales of Graces not coming to the west thing, I now beleive that anything is possible... Even Nintendo's own games aren't immune to this kind of stuff (Dynamic Slash, Disaster, Captain Rainbow...)

Bandai-Namco's been spotty about localizing Tales games before, and all the games that NoA passed on were weird, niche, or of debatable quality (and sometimes multiples of those. Not that i'm pleased myself. I'dve loved to get my hands on Dynamic Slash and Captain Rainbow, at least). This looks to be a big budget Nintendo-owned IP from a top-tier Japanese developer that's getting the full dose of attention.

It's a slam dunk.

You've given me hope lol :D

so ok then. . . I'm REALLY excited for the Last Story, i really love the way the game looks, it's what i thought Zelda Wii (2) would look like (also what i wanted it to look like). All it needs now is a great story and i think it'll be one of the best RPGs on Wii (if not THE best) AND one my fav RPGs in recent memory. I'm definitely getting it! I just LOVE the character style (mostly the hair lol) and art style in general

it better get released here

Another Wii RPG that will not sell that well in Japan and will not make cost effective sense to localize outside the country.  Many of the same "innovative gameplay" and "awesome looking game" have been tossed around with with Xenoblade, 130k after 7 or 8 weeks I pretty sure The Last Story will follow the same line.

Mistwalker will make the difference in this case, hopefully. Plus the fact that the gameplay looks to be quite receptive towards Western markets (hell, it almost reminds me of Fallout 3's system, to a degree)

I agree, I don't think the two games are that comparable largely because Last Story has a big name behind it that should help it get a good sight more sales than Xenoblade did.  Is Xenoblade assumed to not be coming to the states anymore?  I was still under the assumption that it would come over at some point next year.

Actually Xenoblade was listed as TBA by NOA recently so its definetely coming over.

Either way the past few months make Xenoblade seem more attractive than The Last Story to me.
