Hmm, so it's not a real 3D camera, right... since it's not the same moment. There's probably softwares to do the same thing on a PC.

I've been thinking of getting a new "awesome" camera, and this one seems to fit the bell

The camera lens does the moving itself, I think. That's how it seems worded to me.

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

That's what I get as well. If you want a normal picture in 3D, the camera will move the lense to create the effect, but if you want a panorama picture, you have to move the camera.

I done a search for the UK prices on this camera, found this
instead of having two lenses, the TX9 uses the sweep panorama feature to create extra depth. Hit the shutter button and move the camera from side to side. It will take up to 100 images and then combine them to create a single stereoscopic picture. You can then view it on a 3D TV via HDMI.
here: http://www.webuser.co.uk/products/gadget-blog/cameras/digital-cameras/483294/sony-cyber-shot-dsc-tx9-3d-camera
besides the ps move makes the eye 3d and it only has one lens so I am not that surprised.
correct me if I am wrong
stop me if I am bias
I love a good civilised debate (but only if we can learn something).
If you want a 3D camera there are far better options that this half-breed.

Yes I agree that the 3DS will have much lower quality pictures than the camera. The camera does not have a 3D screen. the first website provided in the original post (http://news.sel.sony.com/en/press_room/consumer/digital_imaging/digital_cameras/cyber-shot/release/57945.html) says that: Create Your Own 3D Panoramas Both models offer a 3D Sweep Panorama™ feature, which lets you take panoramic pictures in one press-and-sweep motion. The high-speed burst of frames is stitched together using innovative processing techniques to automatically create detail-packed 3D panoramas. These images can be enjoyed in 2D or stunning 3D on compatible 3D televisions (3D-compatible HDMI cables and 3D glasses are also required and are sold separately.) ________________________________________________________________________________________ If the camera did have a 3D screen, Sony would point that out no doubt. Sony didn't say anything about viewing the 3D pictures right on the screen. And, this info above from the Sony website says you need another device, like a 3D TV to view the 3D pictures (and you need 3D HDMI cables and 3D glasses) (Just to view a picture in 3D!)
I do know for sure that the camera itself can't display the 3D images. |
ugh it says you can view what pics taken from a camera on any 3d device...it does not imply that the camera does not have a display that can display it as well..I mean who the hell put a description like..it can take amazing high quality images which can be viewed from the screen on the camera as well...????? I mean seriously?
it's a given really, you will be able to see it on the camera...no one in their right minds would say hey you can see the pics you take on the camera screen which is built in cuz it's da new awezome tech...your just speculating non stop here..unless you can give me proof or a link or something that this cam won't display those images then by all means I'm ready to accept it wont no problem BUT till then like all other cameras out there, the pics you take can be viewed on the cam screen as well, if not how the hell would you know if you took a proper shot or not? Geez
3ds pic quality will suck horribly compared to one taken from a proper camera so don't even go there..that's just blind bias bs
