Mario Kart uses plenty of buttons even with the wheel.

Accelerate, brake, item forward, item backward, boost, look behind. The pointer is awkward with the wheel so it's easier to use the dpad and 1 and 2 buttons for menus.

this question isn't really clear... better... better for what?

edit: ok I officially need sleep... what will sell better... it's not likely going to be a contest... Move has massively more potential for sales and not just inside the current install base, but selling systems

Amazon Kinect is #1 and Move is actually falling to #45 now. Despite that Kinect costs more (149 vs 99)

It's early, but so far the public's overwhelming choice is Kinect.

BTW everyone MOVE is going to be $150 you need the eye toy and thats $100 and the move is 40 and the navigator is 30 all together more than kinect

Actually, the bundle includes PSeye, Move controller game for $100. So it is cheaper than Kinect. Still too expensive imo.

To get two Move contollers (which obviously you will need unless it is a on rails game) will cost you £140. That is a lot of money. Then add to that the additional assesories and batteries etc.. the cost will go up and up.

So not really sure people can say Move is cheap. I normally don't agree with Pachter but he said ""Some games can be played with the PlayStation Eye camera and a Move controller, some with the Eye and two Move controllers, and some with the Eye, a Move controller and a Navigation controller. In order to be safe, consumers wishing to participate in the Move experience will have to purchase the Eye ($29.99), two Move controllers ($49.99 each) and the Navigation controller ($29.99), plus a game.

"If purchased as part of a bundle, the all-in cost to play with Move will approach $180, which we think is beyond the reach of the typical household"

And he is right. That will hurt sales badly to begin with. The difference between the two is we know Moves price, it is high once you have the things you need. We are yet to see Kinects price. I expect around $70-$100 range as do they. And at that price they predict

"We think that if Microsoft prices Kinect close to cost (which we estimate to be around $70), it will see a very high attach rate, with the potential to drive $200 – 400 in lifetime value from each Kinect household"

So i agree with them, cheaper Kinect beats more expensive Move. Especially when you need to buy at least an additional one to play two players.

Here's how I think it'll pan out.

Kinect is released. Because there are no existing Hardcore Kinect games, Kinect won't appeal to existing 360 owners because most 360 owners are hardcore.  Existing 360 owners won't purchase Kinect, at least not enough to make an impact. Kinect may appeal to casual gamers. However, most casual gamers don't own 360s. So any interested consumers will have to buy a new 360 and Kinect and $60 games (if those are the actual prices).  That's too much for games that look similar to the wii. Also Microsoft is known too heavily promote games. I expect to see ads for hardcore 360 games one minute (Halo, COD, MGS:R, etc), and then ads for Kinect games (Kinectimals, Kinect adventures, etc) the next. This may send mixed messages to interested buyers, both casual and hardcore. Casuals will see 360 as too hardcore, while core games will see kinect as too casual.    So basically, existing 360 gamers won't buy kinect because it's casual. Non-existing 360 owners won't buy it because the 360 is is seen as a hardcore console, and it'll be too risky when they already have a wii. It will only be worse it there is noticable lag (as many analyst say). I predict a failure.

As for the move, I predict something different. Based on e3, Sony already has hardcore games being developed for move (Kilzone 3, SOCOM 4, Sorcery, Heavy Rain, etc) and I expect this to continue. So, unlike kinect, this will appeal to existing ps3 owners. Existing ps3 owners will buy it and it'll work great (based on what analyst say). At only 100 bucks, ps3 owners will buy the move bundle and will love it because of the games and precision. They may also buy the navigation thingy and another wand. Move will develop a name for itself and maybe non-existing ps3 will buy a ps3 just for move. So basically, Move will sell amongst ps3 owners and may or may not move consoles.

I believe move will outsell kinect. As for Move being expensive for multiple players, have you ever heard of taking turns. Most of the games I saw were single-player made games. As for Kinect outselling move on Amazon. That's beacuse of all the actors, celebrities, and mainstream TV shows showcasing pre-rendering kinect demos. All the uninformed gamers see it and think "OMG It's the future". Then find out the price of Kinect along with a 360 and the expensive games. Most will cancel their orders. Some will still accept kinect. Then they finally get Kinect and realize what a mistake they made.

The only way kinect can sell is by 1.) attract 360 owners 2.) get rid of the lag problems, and 3.) make games different form wii. Oh and it has to work sitting down.

The question should be how many  times 3DS will out sell both.

Id sell my sony and MS stocks if I had any. Now is the time to make real money Nintendo will be worth alot more soon.

Yeah i'm mainly thinking about getting move for Dead Space Extraction and maybe GT5. i actully wasnt to keen on the Wii, but i mean the 1:1 precision looked really good at E3 for move which supprised me and the hardcore game support too.

but i agree about what people are saying about the cost, etc. Kinect might supprise us, as its still unfinished tech. i dont think it will be a failure, but i dont think it will be as big as M$ hope for it to be.

Kinect hands down. The hype for it in the mainstream media is a lot more than Move. Also since it costs $100 for 1 controller for Move it is overpriced. I know we don't have a price for Kinect but you only need 1 compared to 4 move controllers for 4 player gaming. The price for Kinect will most likely be in the $100 - $150 range.

how is it 100 dollars.... wow u really need glasses or something?? and mods you cant ban me for saying the truth zzz cause literally 1 move controller isn't 100 dollars

Apologies, can't figure out how to quote properly with the new interface. It's not [ quote ][ /quote ] anymore?

>>>Also the VAST majority of core gamers will stick to the classic controller for existing and new titles - killzone3 for instance -  where there is an option... I have no doubt about that.<<<

I actually think shooters are going to be an exception to this rule: it's the one genre where motion controls actually give a tangible gameplay advantage to the people using them. That's going to matter a lot in competitive play.
