Forums - Nintendo - I think I know what the 3DS looks like...(serious)

I  just woke up mind you, so I typed this while I could still remember it. I actually had a dream about this (it was the 3DS commercial/trailer), and this is what I saw:

The 3DS was Cobalt blue in the commercial, and the graphics were indeed on a Gamecube 1.5 level. The 3DS looked like a minimal upgrade in the vein of DS Lite- DSi, and that’s where I hope the dream is wrong.

There were two games I saw, a 3D Mario game (like Galaxy). Mario was in a dark purple cave, which matched the color of the handheld. The top screen was much wider; it had a thin white border. It looked like an iPad meant to fill the top of a DS half. The spots where the speakers are on the top half where removed.

The font for the 3DS logo adhered to the Galaxy-type writing, but I’m guessing so it could go along with the commercial in my mind. There were two extra buttons (L and R I think, but it makes no sense) to the right of where the ABXY buttons on the DS are, but to the left of the Power button (right in between).

The second game was more complicated. First I thought it was a Flash game, and I think it might have been, because you kill viruses. Similar to how you press Ctrl on your computer, circles come up where you kill these viruses and there are 23 different sounds that can be chosen when you use these circles. However, in this commercial they mentioned something about Apple, which makes me think the 3DS has a serious operating system. However, if real viruses were so apt to show up on the 3DS, they wouldn’t advertise how sounds appear whenever it zaps a virus away (makes the console look like easy pirate prey).

So I think that Nintendo opening Flash up was not only for WiiWare, but for the 3DS as well. The design for the virus game above seemed like an app. One of several things I unfortunately did not see was price. I'm guessing with recent DSLite/DSi price drops coming, it will be $169.99

I was a little disappointed that it didn’t deviate too much from the DS Lite-DSi formula but I’m missing several things:

Shoulder buttons, whether it uses CD’s or cartidges, and what the BACK of the handheld looks like.

This thread may be considered useless to some, but I had to write what I saw haha. Here's a really rough picture:

"I think I know what the 3DS looks like ... I actually had a dream about this ... it makes no sense ... I was a little disappointed ... whether it uses CD's or cartridges"

They are all pieces of evidence that you're not thinking straight/this isn't real, dreams aren't real you see.. Hell I had a dream about a month ago that the 3DS was a deep purple colour with glistening bit in it (like the Gameboy Color carts for Pokemon gold and Silver) and it actually had three screens (two normal DS size and one ultra widescreen, really thin one in between them) it had a double hinge mechanism so that all 3 screens lined up and that was the real reason behind the 3 in 3DS.

Tell you what a dream is: During REM sleep there are random firings of neurons from the back half of your brain during the creation of long term memories. The neurons in the front half of your brain don't know what to do with these signals and try to create a logical sequence with them.

I'm only stating all this because you seem to be shaping your ideas of the 3DS on a dream, which seems a bit ... well anyway ...

Other than that, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the design you dreamed about was very close to the one show at E3, as it is as good a guess as any when it comes to Nintendo hardware.

Fair enough haha

Actually memory has nothing to do with REM sleep like previously thought. Both researches and reports from bodybuilders and others - some people ingest REM sleep supressors because hormons thrown into your blood flow during REM actually consume muscular tissue -  show no impairment of long term memory at all. We don't know yet why we dream, but most likely the brain is simulating possible future situations or even invented ones just to test possible reactions or solutions, so to speak.

OT - I once had a nightmare about Nintendo cancelling Wii production and buring every unreleased Zelda Wii copies on a New Mexico desert. What gives?

I wouldn't mind if it looked like that picture you posted

so have you been a psychic all you're life or did it just start? :p

Throw in 2 analog sticks at the bottom.  But the two button on the front, to make it have 6 buttons, is an interesting option.  I believe the graphics may be more powerful than one would think they are... PLUS be in 3D.  Nintendo has to compete against other handheld systems, like the iPod stuff.

I think there is a good possibility that the top screen could be bigger than the bottom.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash
