Yeah definitely, imho probably one of the best games in any genre. Loved how they left things all ambiguous and open to interpretation instead of just flat out laying everything in front of you. The symbolism was great as well, did you notice that there were 2 wriggly body in the doorman monster, that and the massive phallic imagery employed by the pyramid head.

After Alan Wake, I must say that it will be hard for Silent Hill to become the awesome game it used to be

    I think that the best PSX game is SH (along with FFT), I own the first 4 Silent Hill and the psp one and the first thing in my mind when I think in SH is Harry Mason saying:

  Mmm Radio, what's  going on with that radio?

I love the original SH franchise! I've played 1 - 4, favorites(in order): 2, 4, 1, 3 

I might go and play Origins, Homecoming and Shattered Memories.... someday...... in the distant(maybe not) future :p

@cgi-quality, do the think the rumor of konami remaking silent hill 2 might be true and shown off at e3 ? and if so would u buy it ?

part 2 is my favorite and I enjoyed the room

silent hill is my favourite series i even liked playing homecoming,how about that for insane

*spoilers* i guess for the guy who has bought them all but not played them yet

i loved silent hill,still have a copy,obviously the atmosphere and stories,but also the combat,which alot of people dislike but it seems to make it a fair fight being one on one with a monster when all you have is a melee weapon,

silent hill itself,what a place for survival horror,

the telly's in the broken mall,i can't remember one as much now,its been along time and they all merge into one,what with resi 2  and 3 aswell,thats alot of schools,hospitals,churches,police stations,hotels,basements,shops,bars,houses thats alot of doors opened,

the lifts/elevators,the endings

the letter reading at the  beginning of sh2 with the great song,i love that,the long walk down to town and just having a plank of wood to defend yourself for ages,the boat,the crazy maze deep down somewhere,i think that was 2

the bathroom in 3 and did i walk around with a lightsaber,i believe i did,the subway,3 must of had the subway

looking out the window in 4 in your room,the title sequence of 4,and the whole room experience itself,looking out your peep hole to the outside,the radio etc,the apt block was cool too i think,but i get confused as to what is in what silent hill,like i said they merge

and of course pyramid head,watching him through the cupboard door

 the film is good too i think,lots of female leads,which i liked beany

there are many good things in the silent hills and i get muddled up but we are in an asylum so thats ok,i'll leave it with the nurses and that wheelchair corridor too,don't leave me on my own,but if you do,remember my torch and broken radio please

i still haven't found shattered memories for the PS2 second hand in the shops yet,i guess i'll have to order it off the net when i hae some spare cash,

but silent hill and silent hill 2 are probably my favourite because they were first and the music/stories are brilliant,

but silent hill 3 and the room are just as enjoyable to me and the room experience itself was superb i thought

really?! Im finding it awesome and really creepy, ok I admit the crawling zombies in that level are effin annoying and I cant take a good shot at them. but I like it when the dark version of a level takes over and changes the entire layout and design of the level. there is also some really damn scary imagery in that level, I still haven't finished it yet but I just saw a dead hanged woman holding her baby with one arm. Im still not sure if those are manequins or real...
