Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Rumor: EDGE, Natal To Cost $149

$149 is waaaay too much money for an add-on

and the casual gamer will not buy the $300 arcade bundle when there is a $200 wii

the hardcore gamer will not spend $149 on natal

the hardcore gamer will use his $149 and buy 3 new games with that money

I think the Bundle has to come with at least a 16GB stick, but I don't have a problem paying $399 for a 250 GB redesigned 360 with Natal and soem games, my concern is the standalone price of Natal, which imho needed to be no higher than $119, based on the precedence set by Wii Board.

Does this mean no price cuts for the 360?  If an arcade is now $199, and the Natal standalone is $149...and the combined is $299...The redesigned consoles and newer chipset probably reduces cost by 30-50%...interesting.

I just $119 standalone Natal, and $279 combine is the sweet spot...not to mention a $179 Arcade with an 8GB stick.

I have been saying this for so long.

MS addons are never cheap.

MCV.com is reporting the same price, for me this is all but confirmed at this point Natal will cost $150, kinda hefty.

rip-off

Sorry for bad English.

That is too much for me, consumer electronics usually costs roughly ten times the amount in dollars in NOK when they launch here (almost always a good rule of thumb) and this will put Natal 2-300 NOK shy of the price of the console itself (and Elite bundle with two games).
Not that it matters to me though, I highly doubt I'll be getting neither Natal nor Move.

Pricing it too high and changing its name at the last moment, just when most people got used to call it Natal: I can't believe MS suddenly became so clumsy.

I am in need of a new 360 (no hdmi) I'll probably pick up a 360 Natal bundle at the end of the year.

Just want to play good games

Microsoft is feeding prices into the wild in order to make people think that Natal is going to be expensive. Then when they stand up during the E3 press conferrence  they are going to deliver a price point which is much lower than what people think its going to be because of these rumours. That way its going to seem cheap to many people because they were preparing for a price which was much higher than what actually eventuated.

I am pretty sure that $150 is far too much to achieve their goals. Remember they want most Xbox 360 users to buy and upgrade so it cannot be too much more than the base price of software which is $60. Many of the earlier estimates used more expensive TOF cameras as the basis for the higher expected price whilst these have never eventuated.
