Do you endorse exclusivity and why?

For me yes. Exclusivity drives the market and sets brand recognition.

Just because a game is exclusive, does not mean it will be good. But the reason i endorse exclusivity is that consoles are differentiated by their exclusives.

This is the multiplat generation so... no.
Quality has nothing to do with exclusivity nowadays...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Yes. They can tailor the game for one system.

I endorse exclusivity because it allows the game to be tailored to the strengths of the console it's on without having to worry about anything else. Full optimization, if you will

Also, without exclusivity, you can barely differentiate between consoles. You buy an Xbox for a reason. You buy a PS3 for a reason. You buy a Wii for a reason. Whether this is the "multiplatform gen" or not, what would be the point of choosing one over the other if they all had the same games?

I endorse exclusivity in the fact that without it there really is no point in there being three different consoles. But I expect these exclusives to be first party now a days, as third party exclusives are becoming a dieing breed.

Remember when the guys at Media Molecule said that LBP would be *different* if it was on the 360, because XBLs online infrastructure is a lot stricter and wouldn't allow for such a free flow of user created content?

Quality doesn't have to always be related to hardware, but the services a company offers also.

Yes. I can't imagine Halo being synonymous with anything besides Xbox.

Yes, but for technical reasons mainly. Focussing on the console's strengths can result into more advanced gaming experiences. For example lag free online gaming with 32 or more simultaneous online gamers, taking advantage of Blu-Ray optimised streaming / capacity, processing power regarding onscreen effects/activity or with regard to Nintendo Wii-mote optimised experiences, etc.

However I don't think it's a good idea to make exclusives based on multi-platform gaming engines like with the Unreal engine or keeping a sequel to Halo or Alan Wake from PC gamers. I also think it's bad practise by Microsoft to buy exclusivity to anticipated Japanese games which would otherwise reach many more interested gamers as the console is a non-factor for Japan. Very bad for a competitive market.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."
