actually i llove my psp compared to my ds, my ds just kinda sits there waiting for the occasional good game, while ive been playing some fat princess lately. Hopefully at e3 they will anounce a new psp and dramatically reduce the price of this one, lets say about 50$ to $120-130, and then sales will skyrocket.

Personally I think some of the issue is Gamestop everyone I go into has at least 10 used PSP's available plus even if you wanted a new one they tell you your better off with a used one. I just wish Sony would be smarter make the price 150 add in a SD card and a sweet game maybe Syphon Filter Logans Shadow or Dark Mirror or have Patapon 2 preloaded on the SD card.

Personally, I can tell you that not a single one of my friends own a PSP, and have never expressed interest in one. Then again, I only know a few with a DS.

It needs a price cut in NA. And some quality games wouldn't hurt either.

Overall, I don't see any problem with PSP sales. It's doing poorly in one region, but heck, xbox is also doing horrible in one region and we don't see people freaking out about that.

I love my PSP too, but it has some major flaws.

1. UMD-it has poor loading times and burns battery life compared to the DS.
2. Still too expensive- PSP Go is $250. That's only $50 less than a PS3. The normal PSP is $170. The DS lite is only $130.
3. Battery Life- The battery life(even downloaded games) does not last as long as the DS.

The PSP Go needs a major price cut. The budget for them can't be more expensive than the normal PSP. Cut it to $180 and watch the sales go up. Most people don't care how good of games are on the system if the price of the console is more expensive than a Wii

Perhaps the PSP type of game experience is best experienced on the big screen. For every GOW:COO and MGS portable there is a big screen/PS3 counterpart. DS is different cause the games offer a different experience than you can get on consoles + like everyone likes that system.

I think the main problem is that PSP is too much like the PS3 that they tend to eat at eachother's potential sales. It's a similar situation in Japan. PSP has always done well there, and now that the PS3 is finally starting to pick up there, PSP sales are going down. Same situation in America. PS3 is finally starting to take off there so it is taking its toll on PSP sales. Add that to the fact that handhelds aren't quite as popular here as they are in Japan or Europe.

PSP is a decent system, but there are very few standout games worth buying one for. This shows in the amount of piracy on the platform. I might sell mine soon to put towards a PS3.

its needs a huge price cut and now, it sony wants anymore sales from it. it needs to be priced at $99 and then start putting ads out for it.

Hey man, I just bought this new sleek piece of tech. It's a bit pricey but that's ok because It's awesome. Not only does it play games, but it has a host of other features too. It's a full out multimedia device that kicks ass on every level!

Yeah sure the PSP has grander scale "hardcore" games. But the PSP's target demographic of an older and cooler market than that of the DS is the exact same market that wants this thing.

there is no way the PSP will be priced lower than the PS2. I see it more or less match with DS's price. If that's the case, it presents itself as the more attractive handheld.

again, up to Sony to make the final call here. It is doing well in Euro and japan, a US price-cut would result in cut in those other regions as well, which leads to less profit per handheld.
