Resonance of Fate it deserved a lot lot better.
Suikoden series ( a great series but ignored by a lot of JRPG fans )
Persona series and other SMT games ( same as above )

That's all I can think of right now.

Riviera was originally released in 2004 for the Gameboy Advance.  Definitely not this gen.

Still released this gen on the PSP.  Updated version is updated and it still deserved a good deal more (both in reviews and sales) than it received.

I agree that it's a quality game.  It has one of the best RPG OSTs of last gen, however a nearly identical rerelease doesn't make it current gen.  Same with games like Chrono Trigger.  No matter how many times they're rereleased, they still belong to their own generation, their own era in gaming.

Edit: I'm sorry my grammar was god aweful

I'm going to have to disagree about the recent Persona games as Persona 3 FES: got 89 meta, and Persona 4 got 90 meta (So this one obviously doesn't fit shaft in reviews)

If you're talking about the older ones then you and I agree :P And if you are talking about Sales then I agree as well :).

Oh, agreed!  Solid battle system, lovely "claymation" engine, fantastic world design and the perfect job system.  People always compare it to Dragon Quest, but that so far off the mark imo... it's much more like bits of Chrono Trigger and FFV.  Pretty easily Mistwalker's best game so far imo (we'll see of The Last Story unseats it)...

Since it doesn't seemingly say this gen then I'll raise you Planescape Torment. Whilst its probably the most highly praised rpg ever made, its sales were utterly dismal in comparison. Infact lets just say every Black Isles game pretty much got amazing reviews and dismal sales :(
