Forums - Gaming Discussion - Which gaming system you bought and why?

I bought a PS3 because Sony is the only producer that had not let me down with any of their consoles.. and they still haven't

Currently playing: MAG, Heavy Rain, Infamous

Getting Plat trophies for: Heavy Rain, Infamous, RE5,  Burnout and GOW collection once I get it.

Wii- I couldn't pass on nintendo games, I was into the motion control idea and I'm still in it now.
360-wanted a next-gen system (I got it in mid 2006)
ps3-because my brother had started to work on DVD/blu-ray magazine, so he needed a cheap blu-ray player and I didn't disdain to be able to play even more games
DS-that was a gift from friends, still I was really interested in it, I wanted an handled.

Well might as well go

PS3-Mainly big titles gow 3 and mgs4 for example

360- to play cod with my friends

wii - to play Mario and Zelda based games and play all the classic games as well

I bought a wii because of the line-up

I bought a ds for the line-up & because it's portable

Wii- Because I buy all the Nintendo consoles. It has been worth it, and I will be purchasing a second one especially for my room

Xbox 360- For Rare games! Well worth it.

PS3- Because I had a little extra money laying around. Kind of worth it.

I bought the X360 because I love Microsoft and Xbox.

Got a Wii for the movement. I buy the least games for it but still enjoy the sports titles and play regularly with my family. Wish the little bugger played DVDs though - that's probably my only gripe with the thing

Got a PS3 for lowest cost (at time) HD console / Blu-Ray and because the PS3 would be getting the only title I was interested in making sure I had access to - the next Team ICO title. My two main gripes are the loss of full BC (I have a partial BC 60GB) and the size of the bugger.

Got a PSP for travel because I prefer it's library to DS and I can watch films on it (I like films a lot). My main gripe with it is the effort it takes to get media on it vs what I want. I also think that the UMD approach was a mistake (although despite everyone seeming to have this gripe I note removing it hasn't done the Go any favours - although I think the lack of any physical media and price is out of alignment with where most people are in the market.

Got a PC because I've always played on a PC since forever and my favourite FPS still feels best on that platform (Half Life). I have no gripes with my PC other than the cost of upgrading the bugger.

I don't have a 360 because I haven't felt, having bought a PS3, that I could fully justify the purchase given I play titles like Valve and Mass Effect on PC - as I'd really be buying it for a very small number of titles I couldn't get elsewhere. However, the cost it now looking so low, that I may pick one up later in the year. I'm waiting to see how Natal takes off too as that interests me also. Or maybe I'll pick up a second hand one, thinking about it, as it would really only be for Halo 3, Alan Wake and Gears 2 at this point.

I bought 2 DSs for my kids but rarely touch them myself.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I got my PS3 mostly for its games like Final Fantasy XIII and Uncharted.

When I was scoping out a new system I contacted two people for systems on craigslist: one for a 360 and one for a wii. The guy with the 360 never responded, but the one with the wii did. Sometimes I regret it seeing LFD and borderlands, but then I'd miss out on some of the benefits of the wii.

Allow me to tell you why I chose the wii:
-I love me some smash bros. Melee was(and still is from a combat standpoint) the best fighting game of all time. It's a """"hardcore""""" game that soo many wii owners play. Amazing.
-The whole gaming experience is cheaper. The system was cheaper, the games and so on. Plus the craigslist seller was selling it and games for cheap:D I'm a poor college student...
- I did some research on new games coming out. The one that stood out to me was metroid prime triology. Not only were all three games coming out on one retail disk, but I could finally play Prime without gay strafing/adventure controls!!! I had a blast playing boom blox at a friends house and was excited for bash party. Excitebots seemed like such a crazy racer, that I had to try it out.
-Possibly the greatest attraction is COMPLETE BACKWARDS COMPATABILITY! I owned a gamecube, so I had a plethora of cube games. That isn't an attraction to everyone, but for me it certainly was. This helps fill the shooter void often.
-Playing all DK on VC:) Still holding out for DK64 someday.
-One of my favorite genres is puzzle, and I thought the would be the strongest in that arena. Boom Blox Bash Party is amazing to go through not only in single mode, but also co-op with my sis. I've also been a tetris junkie for quite a long time(second game I ever played). Tetris Party Deluxe will be legit.

If the 360 owner had responded I probably would have been just as happy. That is of course assuming I did not get red ringed. I think in my situation a wii makes a lot of sense.

All of them, so I wouldn't miss out on any game I want to play :P

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos
