First I tell u my opinion about ff13 sales. Its sales in west have amazed me, its a massive success here and cud become the best selling ff here behind FF7 and it deserves it as its one of the best. but in japan ff13 flopped, thts the truth tht shud be accepted. it got less sales than ff6. Square enix is back to square one there.

how will ff be revived in Japan?

this is pattern:

Peak - 4 Million - 1997 (with FF7)

3.5 Million - 1998 (FF8)

3 Million - 2001 (FFX)

2.7 Million - 2000 (FFIX)

2.5 Million - 1994 (FFVI)

2.4 Million - 2006 (FFXII)

1.9 Million - 2009 (FFXIII)

so from a peak of 4 million ff has halved in strength in japan. all success and fans gained from ff7 are lost as the series did worse than ever there (worst since ff4). the popularity buiilt ovr 16 years from 1994's ff6 success is gone. maybe jp like turn based ff's more?

I did not realize its sells had dropped that much over there.

Other then put it on a handheld it's never gonna have it's Japan sales go much higher. It's not so much FF falling imo then it is Japan's console market shrinking.

It did really good for the fanbase it was on. I don't think it flopped.

Tht wnt move the franchise forward. they need a new hit tht makes franchise big again, bt at the same time the success gained with ff13 in west shudn't be lost. they need to make a ff tht appeals to both sides.
i hope ff versus xiii can sell 3 million + in japan.

i ws shocked too. the signs came with ffx when it didnt do as well as ff8 & 7. then ff12 dropped below ff6. now ff13 hit new low.

ff15 could do as low as 1.5 million at this rate. sumthing shud be done.

Make a good, not westernized game.

Bring back an old school turn based FF with old school job classes, and old summons.
