Forums - Sony Discussion - I am sick of all these updates!

Just you.

Mine takes 20 mins at the most.

Your connection speed fails I think.

Usually takes 5 minutes...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

There is something wrong with the source of this information.
If you never have lag on the ps3 and wii60 download fine, then you have either a problem with exaggeration, or you are talking about "installing" the update, not downloading it.

If your ps3 never lags, then downloading is impossible to be a problem. Lag involves downloading and uploading bits from the net. An update downloads directly to your hard-drive, so, in effect, it is the exact same thing as playing online.
You must be complaining about installing the update, which I agree, tends to take several minutes, usually 3-10 on average.

This update was fast but there have been some sloooooooooow ones in the past.

I have a fast connection. Don't have any issues with that...

LOL!! 2-3 Hours? are you serious? Are you still on Dial up internet connection? Jk
Seriously 30MB takes me like 10-30 second.. My PS3 is the 40GB model
Must be your connection or if your wireless signal is really weak
I really recommend using an ethernet cable.

PSN: HienTran2691

XBL: IVietCong

there is indeed a problem with your PC... er console. (Viva la HD generation (well wii is same gen :p)).

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

Your internet is fucked up. Takes normally around 4 minutes. If you have a wired connection to your PS3 , you should hook up a laptop or something and check the download speed.
If your Ps3 is connected to Wireless , than your PS3 probably isn't close enough to the modem.

now that's a long time! mine was like 5 mins...

though the 360 updates for me takes over an hour with fail everytime but I think that's microsoft bad coding on deployment of updates.
