Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Miyamoto plans to continue working should Nintendo retire him!

Games legend and BAFTA Fellowship Award recipient, Shigeru Miyamoto, has revealed that because he feels his best work is “yet to come”, he may never technically retire.

Speaking with GamesTM, Miyamoto uses “aged cartoonists” still working on projects as an example of what he plans to do should Nintendo ever ask him to retire.

“I am one of the company workers and the company has to retire me some time,” he said. “So from that perspective, yes, I may have to retire from Nintendo some day.

“But when I look around and see how aged cartoonists continue to work on their manga and how movie directors create new movies all the time, I understand that they would never retire. And by the same token, I guess I will still be making games somehow.

“The only question is whether the younger people will be willing to work with me at that far point in the future”.

Miyamoto’s latest game, Super Mario Galaxy 2, is slated for release May 23 in the US and June 11 in Europe.

I know a day will come when Mr. Miyamoto retires, but I'm not going to think about that day.

I'm going to enjoy what he's given the world and remember him fondly for it.

-starts playing SMB-

Pixel Art can be fun.

A epic games like Super mario galaxy 2 mad by a 57 year old proves that old minds are just as good as young ones!
