360 sales slow down... they announce a new game and hype it as much as they can.

Doesn't bode well for alan wake or Natal if they're already on to hyping the next thing.

Talk about a perfect storm. Gears 3 and Mass Effect 3 in 2011 would make me a happy camper. I predict Mass Effect 3 in early 2012 thou.

I was saing that with M$ hyping up a new game it seems they've run out of things to grab peoples attention and excitement in the Xbox brand with. So it's quite possible that they don't have much confidence in their other products at present so are moving on to something else to attract attention. Otherwise the'd be releasing videos of Natal, Halo Reach or Alan Wake and holding back on the GoW 3 announcement untill they'd run out of new tricks.

no actually its not that shocking to announce that the second biggest xbox exclusive will be the biggest title of the year. Ofc it won't be but that doesn't mean they have ran out of tricks lol. Killzone 3 and Resistance 3 aren't in the same league sales wise. FFVersus will not outsell it. FF13 might not outsell gears 2 and its a main sequel, not a spin off, and multiplatform.

If a pokemon game comes out that year it will definitely outsell it, same with a mario game, or a "wii" game with a perpherial. MW3 will outsell it. If GT5 gets pushed back to 2011 it will also outsell it.

to people saying Versus XIII, Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, Killzone 3, and a few others.....sorry but none of those games are going to sell near Gears 3 level. All great games I'm sure but they can't really compete with the Gears franchise. Currently the only game that might be bigger is a MW3 or first party Nintendo game.

I like gears 1 online better then gears 2,just those damn quitters and glitchers that bother me,I told cliffy b if he made gears 3 like gears 1 online and made it so that if you quit during a match you get banned from joining a new 1 one for half an hour,that;ll stop the quitters,and gears would be my favorite online shooter ever,if i could finish a match with all 8 people still playing.
