Plenty of 360s, PS3's, and Wii's. No shortages so far

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

I thought they banned threads that try to bring up stupid and already gone over a million times things regarding the numbers.

Reporting your thread to ioi so he can close it. There was really no need to include stuff like:
"Various times in the past it was claimed the bigger boxed fat PS3 had about 1 million more units on the shelves than 360s, which sounded weird to me (a lot of extra needed shelf /storage space in comparison to the 360)."

Basically this whole thread looks like your attempt to shove something in the faces of VGChartz numbers if it doesn't agree with an unreliable, anecdotal, and impossible to prove poll.

Overreact much?  ioi was just tired of constant threads saying the numbers were wrong and people demanding they be adjusted.  He never said there could be no discussion about the numbers.  If he did, what would be the point of this site having forums?

@ ElGranCabeza

I think I remember somewhere it was stated normal shipped vs. sold is around 1.5 or 2 mil, so that's why I figured it would be somewhere around 1 million with shortages.  We'll see, though.  And I have complete faith the numbers will be adjusted when/if new info is available.  They always are.  Just don't demand they be adjusted.  That makes ioi angry.  And you wouldn't like him when he's angry.

Good morning Europe, may we have your votes please?

PS3 vs 360 sales

PS3 stock is low in my city, xbox 360 stock is a surplus. lol

“Absolutely, we can do much more with it. I don’t know if we are even close to 50 percent of PlayStation 3’s power at this point,” said Asmussen about God of War 3.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

Which city?

PS3 vs 360 sales

Within the PS3's best fiscal Q4 so far the PS3 sold 2.2 million units. Considering the cheaper entry pricing and successful PS3 bundles like Heavy Rain, God of War 3 and Final Fantasy XIII the PS3 should significantly top this if there aren't very severe shortages.

An expected 30% increase would mean about 2.8-2.9 million units sold and would bring the PS3 up to 36.4 - 36.5 million. That would mean the gap between 360 and PS3 taking equal timeframes would grow from 5.5 million more PS3s sold by the end of 2009 to 6.8 million by the end of march 2010.

It's still hard to predict at this point though considering there were/are shortages at retail. Maybe Sony shipped no more than needed to meet its fiscal year prediction and if they would have produced as much as possible this figure may be much higher.

PS3 vs 360 sales

Lots of both consoles in stores around here. The only console in the last three years with legitimate shortages in my area was the Wii.

You forgot choices for 'about the same' - London UK - PS3/360 stock levels would appear to be 'about the same' in my 'bit' of London.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Sony and Microsoft only quote shipped numbers. They would have no idea about retail figures which always lag behind shipped figures.
39 million 360 sold as of 27 March 2010 is in line with Microsoft announcing 39 million 360s shipped as of 31 December, 2009.
33.5 PS3s sold as of 27 March 2010 is in line with Sony's 33.5 million shipped as of 31 December 31, 2009.
