Forums - Gaming Discussion - Blame it on the Ubisoft

No More Heroes 1,No More Heroes 2, Red Steel 1 and Red Steel 2. Those games could have had better LTD sales if there developers showed them some DAMN SUPPORT!

Why Ubisoft? WHY?

Why publish or develop a game knowing that you're not going to give it support by making tv ads or something?

Ok, Red Steel 1 did sell 1 million copies LTD and I'm proud of those sales but come on!

WHAT ABOUT NO MORE HEROES 2?

There was so much hype going into that game and what happens? No Ads, Nothing!

With good advertisements shown on TV almost every other day, No more Heroes could of sold 150k first week worldwide. But no because Ubisoft doesn't care what does it sell? 40k first week! 40k? WTF?

Red Steel 2 is going to be released this tuesday and I've only seen one advertisement. Ubisoft better promote this game or else the LTD sales of this game will be lower than the first game.

I really think Nintendo should've stepped in a promoted RS2 for Ubi.  A bit of a missed opportunity imo, though I wonder if the removal of multiplayer had anything to do with the lowered promotion?

NMH2 is just sad though, and Ubi's not even interested in publishing NMH1 HD from the sounds of it.  I wish the series had gone to more enthusiastic publisher in the west... I bet Capcom would've done a good job with it.

To be fair, they are making a really good looking Prince of Persia game for the Wii that is to be a return to the Sands Of Time trilogy. I don't know if they will advertise it though.

They didn't really advertise the first No More Heroes either, but the lack of advertising for Red Steel 2 does bother me. It's a shame since I think that the sales could be high if they did.

I've seen advertisements from them on their Petz games but thats it.

Because core games can useally sell themselves. Heavy advertisement won't ___always ______result in super sales. Core gamers tend to have an internet connection! If they never saw one internet forum/ad/gamesite saying anything about NHM2 well then they are doing something wrong~~

That hype you mention, for NMH2 and such, is the best advertising they could have had. TV ads weren't going to sell that game to many people, since the interested parties were already talking about it.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

Core games don't sell themselves on the HD formats though, why do people think they suddenly will on Wii?  If anything, it's the HD games that get the heaviest advertisement (GTA, Assassin's Creed, Halo, COD, etc) that net the best sales.  Which is logical... I just don't get this sudden disconnect that seems to happen whenever we see a Wii core game?  It's like when Wii enters the equation for 3rd parties, all logic and reason goes out the window? :/

Well I have never seen a tv ad for the xbox here apart from on Discovery Channel and MTV. The only time I saw a lot of tv ads was with Halo 1,2,3 -.-. Might be different in other countries tho

same here. i don't see all that many tv ads for games in general. thinking back, all i remember in recent months has been AC, GTA, COD, batman (promoting the joker), infamous during the summer, final fantasy xbox bundle...not much more than that. even for the god of war release i've only seen that commercial a couple of times while watching videos online.

As far as No More Heroes. Be glad Ubisoft is even willing to touch it. If they didn't who would?

Ubisoft probably won't publish the HD release. So there's no guarantee it'll come to the NA or Others at all.

Red Steel on the otherhand is their IP. As the release comes closer they're likely to put some ads out. Its a major release for the Wii. Gamestop is constantly running videos for it, I assume Ubisoft paid for that.
