Terrible numbers for MS.

http://finalfantasy-xiii.net/2009/03/21/microsoft-final-fantasy-xiii-will-sell-more-on-xbox-360.html

How fast will people forget MS said this then be so quick to bring up something sony said?

To be fair though that was when 360 was completely pwning PS3 in sales (i.e. pre Slim) As someone from the UK who decided on getting a 360 instead of a PS3 because of the prospect of Final Fantasy being on it I'm pleasently suprised as despite the big lead 360 has over here I still expect something more like 65% PS3, 35% 360.

The fact that GTA managed to sell more on Xbox was probably also due to a bigger gap as well as exclusive content but I do wonder if maybe because 360 now has that market that maybe the next GTA might sell more on the 360. Even with PS3 sales outpacing 360 sales worldwide at the moment Battlefield and Modern Warfare still sell more on 360.

Anyway I think these sales show that going multiplatform was the right decision as enough people who have a 360 have bought it and of course by doing this reached out to around 51% of the market rather than around 23%.

To be fair? TO BE FAIR? LOL... HAHAHAHA!

"To be fair Sony said that stuff when they took 70% of the parket and beat MS by more than 100 million consoles"

So... why does sony get slack from their comments?

Gust and Sega Japan have skipped the Xbox 360 though, and Capcom appearently dind´t though it was worth it to release Sengoku Basara on the Xbox 360.

Sega of Japan's reluctance to support 360 with stuff like Yakuza, Valkyria and Power Smash is totally weird to me.  Maybe too many bad memories of awesome Smilebit games bombing on the original Xbox? :/

Gust's mega niche, and really doesn't matter in the scheme of things.  Capcom's giving 360 some very decent support though, with Lost Planet 2 (plus exclusive content), Dead Rising 2 (plus exclusive content), SSFIV (plus exclusive content) and Monster Hunter Frontier.  They're not bringing Basara 3, but that's just an upscaled Wii port for the JP market primarily anyway.

What's the exclusive content for SSF4?

Not game content, some sort of OAV tie-in for Chun Li on XBL/disc.

Oh, okay, as long that it isn't something that effects the gameplay is good, it would be a stupid move to create a barrier between the PS3 and 360 players.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

Well the games are separated anyway, so exclusive DLC could still work.  Personally I wish Capcom would find a way to integrate XBL and PSN multiplayer crossplatform, that'd be HUGE for games like SSF4 and LP2 imo.  Still amazes me that no one's done it yet besides Square. :/

I don't quite care about "casual" SF4 :P

When I play it I play it offline with my friends using a fighting stick (I use the old Namco one, they use HRAP)

GTA is a much bigger Playstation franchise and the 360 had no issue beating the PS3.

exclusive content helped shift those numbers

Considering the dissapointing performance of the *no-longer* exclusive content, I would say no.

people bought it long before the new content came out.  not everyone who made their decision based on the contect had to buy it.  I don't think it's the only reason gta sold more on 360 but I do think it was a large contributing factor.

great sales overall for square-enix. who cares about the difference
