SSF is the best emu I've used. Plays my games and ROMS well.

If Sega put the original Sega Rally on XBLA for 1600 MSP, I would hit it up in a flash.

I'd also pay that for pixel perfect ports of Daytona(not CE), Dragon Force, Burning Rangers and Sonic Jam.

Add Sega Touring Car if they get rid of the contextual steering.

The Saturn did everything Sega did wrong with the Genesis. Sadly, that era was gone, and it was a 2D console in a 3D world. Ironic that a pioneer company like Sega making 3D games like Virtua Racing, Virtua Fighters, Virtua Cop, Daytona USA, etc. made a console that was the worst at handling 3D....

Someone has a bad case of nostalgia. Too bad it got its ass fucked by SNES.

The only thing that is assfucked is your sense of history. The Saturn didn't compete against the SNES, it was aimed at the PS1 and later the N64. I suppose it was also against the 3DO and Jaguar, but those died a natural death.

I can't believe nobody has brought up Burning Rangers. That game kicked ass. Oh and the many sweet lightgun games. Oh and lets not forget online action, it only took everybody else a decade to figure that one out. Sega took the innovation of Nintendo, the online of Microsoft and the tech of Sony and wrapped it all in one a decade early. The players today are all pretty sad in comparison to what Sega was doing.

well saturn sold very well in japan. Hell it was neck to neck with PSone until FFIIV came out. And it had a considerable lead over the N64. As for the western market.. well SEGA really screwed that up. Bad dev tools+ hard to develop for quads(no matter how much better they looked than polygons), couldn't save the system.

I see some much VC/PSN/XBLA potential in saturn titles.. SEGA really ought to get those out. The best selling title on XBLA in japan is VO:OT.. that isnt a coincidence..

Extremely unlikely. The Saturn is very difficult to emulate, no emulators run it to a high standard as of yet. VC is out simply because of space limitations. VO:OT was a DC game by the way.

Well yea its unlikely for some1 who doesnt have access to the BIOS and stuff but Im sure SEGA could get it to work if they wanted- no easy feat but possible.

Im aware that VO:OT is a DC game, my point was that the game is a HUGE success on XBLA..just goes to show SEGA can make lots of money on XBLA/VC/PSN if it spinds out the right titles...especially since the input required for re releases is minimal. And the DC wasnt even THAT popular in japan( its another matter it outsold PS3 head-to head if you align the launches).. imagine if they released other gems( Burning rangers, Guardian heroes,Panzer dragoon, shenmue etc)... Immense economical potential here..  I remember running VF2 on nebula n on 1080p it blew my socks off.. the game looks miles ahead of the saturn port.. I'd gladly pay em $15 for an arcade perfect upscaled release and Im sure Im not the only one here...

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

How can I like an system that killed Sega out of the console business?

Fuck Dreamcast.  <3 Saturn.

Thanks for the thread on Saturn, but sorry, the Dreamcast kicks some serious tail too.

Try SSF it is pretty much perfect up there with the best N64 and PS1 emus. I rarely us my actual Saturn anymore (i don't want to wear it out from non-light gun games)thanks to SSF. Way ahead of the PS2 and DC emus.

Sega's developed an internal SS emulator that runs on PC and PSP even.  Atlus Japan licensed it for Princess Crown and Devil Summoner on PSP, which are both basically Saturn ISOs on UMDs.

Gametap also offers a few early Saturn games on their service (VF1, Panzer Dragoon 1-2, Bug! & Clockwork Knight iirc).

I can't believe some people are actually bringing up games like Xenogears and FF8 in a thread about good games. What a dark time.

Nice, I never knew that. I will also have to check out the Panzer Dragoons on Gametap, man I love those games!
