yes, but only if you know your gonna buy more games for it, plus, theres plenty of stuff on psn that can keep you occupied

Make friends that already own a PS3 once you buy it. Then borrow their games.
SnakeEyez said: I would say yes because those two games are good and there is alot of other games already released on the PS3 or coming this year that can help you justify your purchase (that is assuming you are interested in games like Uncharted 2, GoW III, Heavy Rain etc). |
I would have to agree FF13 is also coming out soon.

170 for Valkyria Chronicles and 200 for Battlefield Bad Company 2?!?!?!?! Where the hell do you live? Valkyria Chronicles in USA costs 20 bucks and BBC2 costs 60. Combined total of 80 without tax. That sounds pretty good. |
lol ... dude he also has to buy the PS3 for these 2 games... so 380 total... without tax as you say
And evidently considering his budget, he is not buying the PS3 to buy BR movies....
What's the purpose of a sports car if you can't afford gas?
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
get battlefield on PC! its a lot better. as for Valkyria Chronicles idk , but Demon's Souls is worth buying 3 ps3s for :-p
- Wasteland - The Mission.
well i love my PS3. I guess you could call me a xbox 360 fanboy back in the day. But now i have more PS3 games then xbox games its a great system for sure. I only use my xbox 360 for a few key games like Mass Effect2 and netflix rest is ps3 stuff. I got one and iam very happy with it. Plus having both system is nice also but it i had only one choice in which system to get it would be the ps3 i like there games more. HEAVY RAIN just grt! BTW DEMON SOULS is a must have nich title. ITs very hardcore!!!
Depends on what games you like.. I have joined a couple BFBC2 online games and there were only a couple people online... so maybe MW2 instead?
Though depending on what games you like, Little Big Planet would be an awesome game to get, would keep you busy - the game + levels alone take awhile to go though, then try to get all the items, plus all the user created levels and also if you feel like it you can make your own levels :)
Another idea (depending on where you live) would be to not buy any games, just get one of those subscription things where you send away for a game, and keep it until you return it, think it costs like $10/month, then you can play a lot of games until Christmas :)
Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos
I would say yes if you can afford it now. I don't think there will be another price drop this year, so there is no benefit in waiting other than maybe the price of BBC2 dropping $10-$20. If you like online multiplayer Battlefield Bad Company 2 can keep you busy for a long time. But the only downside of waiting for BBC2 is the online community will have died down a lot by the holidays with new FPS releases coming out so it might not be as easy to get into full matches. Something to think about there.
Haven't played Valkyrie Chronicles, but I read it takes around 20 hours to finish the game. Then you unlock New Game + and Hard mode for skirmishes so I bet you could easily put in 50+ hours if you do everything.
Although since you are unsure about Battlefield you may want to use that money to rent a number of other good games instead of owning one. Hope this helps
I signed up just to give you this advice: don't buy BBC2.
I'm sure it's a great game but no game is worth $60 to someone in your position. For that money you can get two or three games that are just as good. Amazon.com currently have Bioshock 1, Dead Space, Oblivion and Fallout each at $17-18. MGS4, Uncharted 1 and GTA4 are $27-$28. You might get even better prices if you shop around.
A PS3, VC, and a few more great games should keep you going nicely until christmas. And if you want to trade something in you'll find these games hold their resell value much better than brand new games like BBC2.
