It's actually been dead for a while now, and I can't go any longer without it. I need to play some games *twitches*. It's been almost 3 months now. 

My question to all of you is this... Should I get a Slim or fix my 40GB model? I managed to make a backup before it completely died, so I have almost everything. I like the shine of the Phat more than the Slim, but I am afraid of it dying again. Does anyone here know how reliable Sony's fixes are? I know they give a 90 day warranty, but I don't want it dying against after 90 days!  

All suggestions welcomed! (Except for yours, dsister!! ) :)

Depending on how much its costs to fix it if your willling to pay 300$ for a slim go right ahead I have one and its very nice and the 120gbs will be a lot better then your 40gb!

the slims are supposed to be ylod proof, which not very common on the phat ps3s, are a problem for some people.


i still have my 40 gig, but if u got the cash get a slim

just get a slim man, its not worth 150$ when you can get a slim for 300$, i got the my fix for free and am selling it to get a slim, so good luck

it's not 90 day's it's a full year from the date that you purchased the unit.

as for their FIX the people that have had to send in their unit , have stated the service has been anywhere from great service to ok to not ok service.

I guess it depend's on who you get on the other end an how well their day has been.

my nephew had to send his ps2 slim into being repaired a couple of year's ago and the rep i talked to was nice and the help was fast and quick.

the PS2 came back in about a week and a half works ever since. not a problem.

Just look at how much will it cost you to fix it. If it is cheaper than a new one, just fix it... if not, well........

I meant that they give you a 90 day warranty after you send the PS3 in for fixing. My PS3 is currently out of warranty, I have had it for two years.

It's been 54 days. I checked. Get it fixed. If you think I trolled you before, I will be relentless if you get the slim =P

oh ok, I though you were talking about just the warranty in general.

One thing is for sure, you can't die twice... except if you are a console. In that case you can die as many times you are able to lol

Go buy a Slim, or better yet, wait for the GOW3 bundle (case you haven't done the pre-order yet)
