Narrowly ahead of Batman:AA, 480K (if that counts as a new IP) and Assassins Creed, 470K. 

Did anyone expect this?? I am seriously stunned by HR first week sales of 500K. For such a unique and different game this is some record. It has been really well advertised in the UK (which explains the 100K sales). Certainly the best PS3 advert I have seen here. I assume it has had similar standards of advertising across the world. 

Just wanted to share this with you and celebrate HR great sales. Can't wait to pick it up in the summer!

I'm having a hard time fighting the urge to drop 60 dollars to give it a go.

I think I'll get it in the 30-40 dollar price range.

Lets not forget that this gears toward to the mature audience and its not popular (not that I know of.)

Also I did not expect this, I was expecting 200k-400k on first week.

500k is really good first week sales for a new IP on the Playstation 3. Definitely did better than a lot of people expected.

it is also the best new ip sony has had since gran turismo



Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

Deserves every bit of its sales. Those of you who are on the fence, I hope you buy it and buy it soon. The best thing about this game is the story. It makes for a compelling experience if you don't know what to expect. It's hard to avoid spoilers and games that totally deliver a unique experience are rare.
